Stephen King's It

Is it possible to get nightmares just from a trailer? We may be coulrophobic, but the trailer for the new version of It may just drive us to sleepless nights. We love the classic miniseries starring Tim Curry as the titular clown, but we can’t wait for this movie to arrive in September. If you’re feeling similarly, here are some Stephen King adaptations that are currently streaming free on Tubi TV.

The Dead Zone (1983)

The presence of David Cronenberg as director and Christopher Walken as star mark this as one of the better King adaptations. Walken plays a formerly comatose man who discovers he has psychic powers after he wakes up.

The Dead Zone (2002-2007)

Anthony Michael Hall takes on the role Walken originated in this fan favorite USA Network series. Given that it turns King’s novel into six seasons and eighty episodes, it definitely expands on the original characters the writer created.

Cujo (1983)

E.T.‘s Dee Wallace comes into contact with a slightly less friendly creature in this horror film. In Cujo, a lovable–and huge–St. Bernard turns murderous after contracting rabies.

Riding the Bullet (2004)

Frequent King adaptation director (The Stand, TV’s The Shining) Mick Garris helms this version of the 2000 novella. A desperate man (Jonathan Jackson) hitches a ride with a mysterious–and ultimately dangerous–stranger (David Arquette).

Thinner (1996)

What happens when we actually get what we wish for? Tom Holland (the original Fright Night) directs this creeper starring Robert John Burke and Joe Mantegna.
