With Blinky Bill, the little koala bear, every day is full of fantastic surprises. At least this is what all his animal friends think. The adults of the small town in the Australian outback are sometimes not so sure. But in the end they all love Blinky Bill and his gang of funny friends who stumble from one adventure to the next, always enjoying themselves and playing tricks on everyone around.
S01:E01 - Blinky Bill’s Favourite Cafe
Work begins on rebuilding Greenpatch and Blinky persuades the Mayor that the Cafe should be high on the list. However, the Dingos attempt to exclude Blinky and his gang from the cafe...until the mysterious King Bunyip intervenes.
S01:E02 - Blinky Bill’s Fire Brigade
When a bushfire almost destroys the new school, Blinky and his gang decide to set up the town’s first fire brigade. After a couple of false alarms, the fire brigade finally gets a real emergency call and the first person they save from a fire is...Blinky Bill.
S01:E03 - Blinky Rescues the Budgie
Blinky and the gang discover a caged budgerigar at Miss Pym’s general store and decide to set it free. However, Cedric the budgie has never been in the world before and has trouble settling into New Greenpatch. Eventually, the townsfolk and Cedric realise he was better off in his cage.
S01:E04 - Blinky Bill’s Fund Run
Blinky persuades Mayor Polican to hold a cross-country run to raise money for rebuilding the hospital. The Dingos decide to take part so they can get their hands on the money. However, Blinky and the gang manage to out-race and outsmart the Dingos and the money goes to the hospital after all.
S01:E05 - Blinky and the School Inspector
When the School Inspector comes to Greenpatch, Blinky is so mischievous that Miss Magpie quits her job rather than face the sack. However, Blinky’s plan backfires when he is appointed the new teacher. Blinky finds the new job – and his friends – harder to manage than he expected and is soon asking Miss Magpie to come back as teacher.
S01:E06 - Blinky and the Red Car
A red car is for sale in New Greenpatch and Blinky’s gang and the Dingos both want it. Their attempts to raise the money for it create havoc in the town – especially at the school. The Dingos eventually get the car, but soon discover it’s not the boon they thought it was.
S01:E07 - Blinky Breaks the Drought
Blinky and the gang help Mrs Rabbit grow her own carrots. However, before the carrots can be harvested, the Dingos take them all and sell them at the local market. When Blinky plants a new crop, the river mysteriously dries up. Blinky discovers the Dingos are responsible and – with the help of Flap – foils their latest plan to exploit the town.
S01:E08 - Blinky Saves Granny’s Glasses
When Granny Koala’s glasses are broken by the Dingos, Blinky decides to put on a play to raise money for a new pair. Blinky and his friends try to enact their own version of Romeo and Juliet, but the play is soon hijacked by the Dingos who have their own plans for the money. Nevertheless, the play is a success and the money ends up where it belongs.
S01:E09 - Blinky Bill’s Ghost Cave
The Rabbit family are homeless and many of their belongings have begun disappearing. Blinky finds a cave and suggests the Rabbits move in, not knowing the Dingos are using the cave to store the things they’ve stolen from the Rabbits. The Dingos invent a ghost to scare Mrs Rabbit away, but Blinky Bill out-ghosts the Dingos who run for their lives.
S01:E10 - Blinky Bill’s Zoo
Shortly after Miss Magpie gives a lesson on the strange creatures known as humans, Blinky and his gang capture their own human – a young girl who is lost in the bush. The animals build a zoo for her and try to teach her some tricks. However, the girl doesn’t fail as badly as the animals, who all retire hurt. Finally, a helicopter rescues the girl and the animals all think she’s learned how to fly.
S01:E11 - Blinky and the Magician
When Blinky and his friends accidentally let a visiting magician’s animals escape, he recruits them to take the animals’ place in his magic act. The show turns into a fiasco, but the audience loves it. However, the magician is revealed to be Danny Dingo, who staged the whole show as a cover for stealing the townsfolk’s food.
S01:E12 - Detective Blinky
Someone in New Greenpatch has stolen all the berries off the town’s only Mulgaberry. Bush. Blinky, with the aid of Splodge, decides to become a detective and find the culprit. After suspecting Miss Magpie, Marcia, the Rabbits, the Dingos and even Wombo, Blinky revisits the scene of the crime and discovers who the real thief is.
S01:E13 - Blinky and the Heart of the Tree
Wombo explains to Blinky the importance of the town’s oldest tree. Long ago a cruel Dingo Queen chopped down the tree and had its heart made into a flute. Blinky’s ancestors played a beautiful melody on the flute, but the Queen still was not pleased. However, the tears of the animals who heard this music fell upon the tree stump and, magically, the tree grew again.
S01:E14 - Blinky and the Strange Koala
Blinky and his gang learn there is a strange black and white koala being held captive at the zoo and set out to rescue it. On bringing the animal back to New Greenpatch they discover it is actually a Chinese Panda. They then learn that the zoo koala they left disguised as he panda is being sent to China by mistake. So they rush the real panda back to the zoo just in time to save their koala friend.
S01:E15 - Blinky Bill’s Gold Mine
After Wombo tells him about Greenpatch’s gold rush days, Blinky decides to see if there is any gold still around and opens his own gold mine. When he discovers Danny Dingo is interested in it, he plants a gold necklace in the mine. Danny falls for the trick and buys the mine. Meanwhile, Flap re-buries the necklace. Marcia is appalled because the necklace is her mother’s and now no-one can find it.
S01:E16 - Blinky and the Film Star
The whole town is excited about a film which the Dingos are shooting at the local bank. Flap, Splodge and even Blinky become infatuated with the movie’s star – Daisy Dingo – but the scales soon fall from Blinky’s eyes when he discovers she is part of a Dingo plot to really rob the bank. Blinky pretends to go along with their scheme, but foils the robbery at the last minute.
S01:E17 - Blinky Bill’s Treasure Hunt
Blinky and the gang go hunting for treasure believed to have been hidden years ago by a local bushranger. They discover a chest in an old wombat hole and think the treasure might be inside, but the Dingos steal it from them. There is disappointment ail round when the chest’s contents turn out to be rubbish, but Wombo wisely points out that they already have a more valuable treasure – the beauty of the stars.
S01:E18 - Blinky Bill and Club Pet
Blinky and his gang are concerned when a tourist resort is proposed to be build in their town -–ahead of a hospital. They are even more worried when they discover that the resort’s guests – cats – are coming to Greenpatch to eat the local wildlife. Blinky tries to warn the Mayor, but is banished to the school room. He escapes just in time to save Mayor Pelican from the cats.
S01:E19 - Blinky Leads the Gang
Danny Dingo persuades Blinky’s gang to hold an election to decide their leader, then rigs the result so that he wins. Once in charge, Danny exploits the gang members while installing the other Dingos as his executives. Blinky and the gang eventually rebel by voting to disband the club, leaving Danny to take responsibility for the huge debt he has run up.
S01:E20 - Blinky Bill Finds Marcia Mouse
Marcia Marsupial Mouse is feeling neglected, so decides to get attention by behaving badly. Unfortunately, her plan backfires. When her mother sends her to her room, she escapes and runs away, but nobody notices. Eventually Blinky and Nutsy come across Marcia and help her realise how foolish she has been.
S01:E21 - Blinky and the Monster
Danny Dingo tries to scare Blinky and his gang away from the lake by claiming a monster lives in it. Blinky scoffs and challenges Danny to prove it. Danny accepts and sets about trying to film Meatbsll emerging from the lake dressed as a monster. However, the Dingos end up being scared away when they think they see a real monster in the lake.
S01:E22 - Blinky Saves Twiggy
Nutsy finds a lost baby echidna and, with the help of Blinky and the gang, tries to find its mother. However, the only clue they have to go on is that the echidna’s home is near a ”big kiss”. After a couple of false trails, the gang stumbles across the mysterious ”big kiss” and mother and baby echidna are reunited.
S01:E23 - Mayor Blinky Bill
After criticising Mayor Pelican once too often, Blinky gets landed with the Mayor’s job. His first promise is to improve the fire service, but when he tries to upgrade the river road he encounters problems. Each solution he comes up with only creates another problem, until Blinky finds himself back where he started. In disgust, he gives up the Mayor’s job and goes fishing instead.
S01:E24 - Who Is Blinky Bill?
A new koala in town is everything Blinky is not – polite, studious, well dressed and a violinist. Apart from that, he’s Blinky’s dead ringer and the two secretly agree to exchange places. There’s confusion at home and in the schoolroom, especially when Blinky gets a perfect score in an exam. Finally the two boys change back, but not before Blinky settles an old score with the Dingos.
S01:E25 - Blinky Bill’s Mothers Day
Mothers Day is approaching and the children are making posies for their mothers. While looking for wildflowers in the bush, Shifty Dingo meets an old koala who gives him a flower from a doll he is carrying. Later, Nutsy recognises the flower as belonging to a doll of hers. The old koala turns out to be Nutsy’s father and the two are reunited.
S01:E26 - Blinky Bill’s Wedding Picnic
Blinky’s mother and Nutsy’s father are getting married and a big celebration is planned. However, Shifty is devastated when he cannot go because of a broken leg. When Blinky learns of Shifty’s problem, he builds a special cart to carry him to the picnic. At the picnic, a good time is had by all as the villagers and the Dingos finally learn to live together in peace and harmony in New Greenpatch.
