Life isn't easy, even for a clan of fire-breathing dragons coping with the chaos of everyday life and their own off-the-wall family.
S01:E01 - The Legend of the Lost Egg
Stan's convinced the reason the Dragon Council bully him is because he doesn't know the identity of his real dragon father, a look in The Book of Lost Eggs is called for. Stan is astounded when all the evidence points to Solus the Infallible being his father, it so great to have a real dragon father at last, but Genevieve is not impressed when Stan starts trying to emulate Solus' behaviour. When a missing page from The Book of Lost Eggs reveals that Stan and Solus aren't related after all, there's relief all round; as Zoe says 'I prefer my dad Fallible.'
S01:E02 - The Legend of the Potion That Works
Stan has lots of big ideas about shaking up dragon society and the ideals of macho dragons but is he ready to put his money where his mouth is? When Genevieve's nail growth potion proves popular she decides to set up her own business, leaving Stan to be the househusband. Stan soon realises keeping house isn't as easy as it looks, but has his example started a dragon revolution after all?
S01:E03 - The Legend of the Great Divide
A battle of the sexes between Julia and Julius gets blown out of all proportion. The argument splits the house down the middle, literally! To start with the segregated house seems much more peaceful but soon the enforced separation starts getting to everyone. The twins are missing each other but the adults are being stubborn. Seems like the twins only option is to run away. With the twins in danger petty squabbles are forgotten and after a dramatic rescue in the woods and a surprise case of mistaken identity the Hoppers' realise boys and girls are as good as each other.
S01:E04 - The Legend of Many Cyrils
The Dragon council are holding a census, each family will be counted and assessed and if any household doesn't meet with traditional dragon standards their castle will be confiscated. Stan is in a panic, he's the most un-dragon-like dragon there is, so Gen brews a potion to make Stan twice the dragon he was. The potion's effects are more literal than expected and when Cyril accidentally takes a swig, two identical knights appear. It's not long before there are four replica Cyrils - this isn't going to look good when the Dagon Council come to inspect. It takes some quick thinking to cover up the truth and everything seems to be going well, that is until the twins get their hands on the replication potion.
S01:E05 - The Legend of the Three Headed Babysitter
When Genevieve starts to feel that the romance has gone out of their marriage Stan decides to take her out for a romantic meal. But who's going to babysit at such short notice? The Hydra seems the only option. The evening seems to be going disastrously for everyone: Stan's having trouble following Nick's map and the kids are running riot but the night ends with more romance than expected when Genevieve takes control of the situation and the Hydra tricks the kids into giving them the upper hand.
S01:E06 - The Legend of the Hottest Day
There's a heat-wave and dragons are never great in the heat. Stan, never one to miss an opportunity, thinks he might be able to turn a fast buck by cashing in on the twins' lemonade making talents. Meanwhile, Solus has hit on his own idea to beat the heat - surely Genevieve with her alchemy skills can make it rain, well she better be able to, because otherwise Solus will send the twins to work in the Dragon Gold mines forever! Gen isn't having much luck with her rainmaking and Stan has gone a bit fizz mad with his lemonade. Things are looking bleak for the twins' future but there's an explosive and sticky happy ending - it's a good job Solus can't tell rain from lemonade!
S01:E07 - The Legend of the Lost Fire
It's the day of the Dragon Test but Stan's normally outstanding fire seems to have been extinguished. Meanwhile, Geedo's fire is extremely impressive but Zoe's not impressed, she thinks The Dragon Test is just a silly example of male machismo and doesn't think Geedo should take the test at all. But if you don't pass that test you don't get your Dragon Licence and risk becoming a laughing stock. The test is fast approaching and even Gen's alchemy skills (or lack of them) aren't helping but perhaps all Stan needs is a little confidence booster to get his fire burning again.
S01:E08 - The Legend of the Love on the Rock
Stan has been selected by the Dragon Council to represent them in - The Ultimate Dragon Slug-fest Championship' fight against Chinese Fighting Dragon Cheeung the Invincible. With his certain death looming Stan feels he needs to get some quality time in with the family before it's too late. Zoe is too busy for quality time, she's taking her first cautious steps on the road to love. When Zoe and her new beaux Geedo get caught up in the championship fight, Stanley realises that when his little girl's in trouble his fear of Cheeung goes out the window but With Zoe safely home can Stan accept that his little girl is growing up?
S01:E09 - The Legend of the Golden Chamber
Taxes are going up and Stan is at a loss as to how he is going to pay them when he miraculously stumbles onto (or rather falls into) a cave filled with gold. Things seem to be looking up for the Hoppers, but with Genevieve's new obsession with clothes and the snooty attitude the twins have developed since joining expensive Breakjaw Academy, is all this gold really such a great thing? When Stan discovers it's the Dragon Council's gold hoard he's been spending the initial disappointment gives way to relief when everyone realises they're much happier the way they were.
S01:E10 - The Legend of That Other Dragon
Genevieve is feeling unappreciated and when her dashing old flame Magnus the Magnificent gets back in touch and invites her to a secret tryst she finds it hard to refuse. When Stan stumbles on the reunion and learns of the former sweethearts' adolescent betrothal he wants justice. The Dragon Council step in to try Genevieve for 'husband-promise-breaking' and even though Stan realises he is being foolish and forgives his wife The Council want their trial and sentence Gen to be locked in a dungeon until doomsday. It takes Marbeline to point out that Magnus has, at some point, been betrothed to most of the women in the kingdom, before Genevieve's reprieve is secured.
S01:E11 - The Legend of the Jester
When the Dragon Council Jester decides he's had all he can take, Stanley is eager to step into the breach but Cyril's puppet impersonation is stealing the show. All this fame is going to Stan's head, which means he won't have time to bake his special birthday cake for the twins. The Hydra decides to try their hand at baking but cooking isn't their strength. Will the family be able to convince Stan that they prefer him without the jester hat in time for the twins' birthday tea?
S01:E12 - The Legend of the Lazy Day
Stan uses the excuse of a Dragon Council errand to spend the day relaxing at home. All he wants to do is read his copy of the Pyros' Fireball Centenary Edition but unending interruptions are driving him up the wall. How many more things will come between Stan and his lazy afternoon before he finally snaps?
S01:E13 - The Legend of the Feast of Love
It's Valentines day and in an attempt to avoid the usual disappointing evening Gen and Marbeline decide to make a love potion. But the love potion may not be needed after all: Stan has a surprise for Gen - a beautiful amulet which Obulus lost and Stan found. Meanwhile Zoe is unimpressed with Geedo's attempts at romance, his poetry and flowers are just not enough for this demanding girl. When Obulus demands his amulet back Stan has to use his best disguise to reclaim the special gift. A collision in the woods leads to Geedo and Stan swapping bags and gifts, but luck would have it that the girls love their valentine's presents and the boys are smart enough to reveal that the presents weren't actually intended for them in the first place.
S01:E14 - The Legend of Stan Senior
It's nearly Father's day and Stan's got a few unresolved parent issues. Could Stan's adoptive human father be the explanation for his own poor parenting skills? Would knowing his real dragon father have made him a better dad? But maybe Stan's not such a bad dad after all, his human influenced childrearing skills may be unorthodox but his kids love him, perhaps Stan's human dad didn't do so badly after all. With some unexpected help from Cyril, it looks like a family re-union might be the cards?
S01:E15 - The Legend of the Second Knight
When Stan mistakenly thinks he has killed Cyril he's at his wits end. His first thought is to get a replacement as soon as possible - maybe no one will notice! In actual fact Cyril was catapulted out of the window and is now wondering what to do with his new found freedom. The replacement knight from the takeaway snack stall isn't measuring up and how will Stan convince the family that Cyril has not only shrunk but his voice has got higher too. Cyril's not enjoying freedom as much as he thought he would, he's beginning to miss the Hoppers and his comfortable warm cage but on his way back to the castle he's accosted by the takeaway snack salesman and finds himself in a lunchbox on the way to the Dragon Council. The Council don't generally like their meals raw so they summon Stanley to cook their takeaway knight. Reunited with his pet human Stan has to think on his feet in order to convince the Dagon Council that they are not hungry.
S01:E16 - The Legend of the Ten Bones
Marbeline's feeling a bit unloved so Genevieve invites her to stay for a while to cheer her up but Marbeline's snide remarks about the Hopper's lack of gold are getting to everyone, particularly Zoe who's on the dumps because the family can't afford for her to go to the young dragon's ball. The Hydra think they know a way for Stan to raise some cash quickly: gambling! Things seem to be going well, Stan has tripled his gold but manages to gamble away Zoe! Luckily for Stan Marbeline doesn't seem too reluctant to step into Zoe's place and be won by a rich Dragon, and with the extra gold Zoe can go to the young dragon's ball afterall.
S01:E17 - The Legend of the Great Achievement
It's Stan's birthday and when he reaches the conclusion that he hasn't achieved a single thing of note in his entire life he is plunged into deepest depression. It looks like Stan's decision to spend the rest of his life lying on the couch will become a reality when Marbeline hits on the idea of hiring Doctor Karantula J Wisefang, a noted Dragon Psychologist. After extensive investigation Doctor Karantula is astounded to conclude that Stan is right - he hasn't achieved anything in his lifel! In fact Stan is such a dismal case the Doctor decides to write a book specifically about him. But instead being plunged deeper into despair Stan's lust for life is renewed - after all how many dragons have a book written about them?
S01:E18 - The Legend of the School Bully
The twins are being bullied at school, the unpleasant Robulus insists on mocking the twins' about their father's human upbringing. Stan is eager to jump to the twins' defence until he discovers that Robulus is the nephew of Obulus, the dragon who teased him for that very same reason when he was at school. Stan must overcome his fears and be prepared to stand up for himself and his family, who say's he can't lick Obulus when his anger is roused.
S01:E19 - The Legend of the Wrong Remedy
Stan has a cold and Genevieve decides to brew him her - feel like your old self' potion but she gets distracted and instead makes a concoction that causes Stan and Gen to swap bodies! Meanwhile the kingdom has declared war on a neighbouring kingdom, all single male dragons have been conscripted and the Dragon Council are running out of willing (or unwilling) volunteers. In order to create more single dragons The Council decide to start divorcing dragon couples using a specially devised test to see which couples know each other the best. With swapped bodies Gen and Stan are going to find this test a cinch, just as long as the spell lasts long enough.
S01:E20 - The Legend of the Siege
When the families' selfish behaviour finally pushes Gen to breaking point, Stan realises something has to be done. He decides he's through with scaring farmers and taking their sheep, he's going to set his sights higher, a lot higher: King Theodore's Fortress of the Damned! It's a bad idea and Stan ends up getting chased all the way home by King Theodore's army. Unable to break through the Hoppers' front door the King decides to lay siege to the castle. It takes some quick thinking on Cyril's part and some bad acting from Stan to finally save the day.
S01:E21 - The Legend of the Strike
William the Enormous has announced he's coming to do an audit of the Dragon Council just as Marbeline decides to go on strike. Marbeline's having a great time and the Hydra decide they want some of this strike action. To start with both the Hoppers' and the Dragon Council think they can do without their employees but they soon realise their jobs aren't as easy as they looked. Time for a little negotiating? Not if Marbeline has anything to do with it!
S01:E22 - The Legend of the Big Break
Stan's feeling that life has passed him by. What happened to those youthful exploits and ambitions of yesteryear? When Zoe has a night in prison after a political demonstration gets out of hand, Stan gets inspired to relive his wild youth and goes a little mad with a pot of red paint in the Dragon Council Chambers. The Council soon locate the culprit and Stan is sentenced accordingly but the new found respect he's receiving from his family makes the month in jail almost seem worth it.
S01:E23 - The Legend of the Perfect Parents
The twins are extra excited: The Great Dragon inspector is on his way to their school to test the students and the two smartest kids get to go to the Castle of Enwisened Dragons to learn powerful magic (and Kung-fu!) Gen is distraught at the idea of her babies going away for seven years, and when Zoe announces that she and Geedo are pretending to be married for the weekend for a school project it seems that all the children are growing up too fast. Stan and Gen realise that although their kids will fly the nest someday, right now they need their support and decide to help them with their studies, but will their special lessons be a help or a hindrance?
S01:E24 - The Legend of Aunt Harriet
When Solus interrupts Stan doing an impersonation of Gen's Aunt Harriet, he thinks he has met the dragon of his dreams. Stan is initially mystified by the confusion but when he discovers how generous Solus can be towards the object of his affection, he decides that female impersonation could be an easy way to pay off some debts. Things are getting out of hand, Stan's finding it impossible to refuse Solus' amorous advances and expensive gifts but when Solus proposes how can Stan escape without revealing the truth. Luckily Solus has a wandering eye and Aunt Harriet's three-headed Bridesmaid seems the more attractive option.
S01:E25 - The Legend of the Old Switcharoo
Tomorrow's the Dragon Upgrade Examination - if Stan can pass it means better raids, more gold and a better place to live, the only problem is he forgot all about it. When Stan overhears Marbeline telling Gen that the questions are safely stowed in her desk, Stan thinks he's made, he'll just sneak into the Council Chambers and take a peak at the questions. All is going well until Stan manages to set fire to the question sheet, it looks like he is going to have to write some more questions. It's the morning of the test and Stan is brimming with confidence until he turns over the paper. Inspired by an aging anti establishment rock group the council decided to change the questions at the last minute.
S01:E26 - The Legend of Obulus the Not So Truculent
After a strange quirk of fate Obulus finds himself in debt to Stanley for his life. According to dragon tradition this now means that Obulus must spend the rest of his life as Stanley's slave whilst Stanley gets to take Obulus place on the Dragon Council. Stan is loving the power, the twins are loving their bloodthirsty servant and Gen's got a taste for Obulus' delicious cocktails, but all is not rosy in the Hopper household, Cyril's stuck in his cage, the Hydra are getting jealous and Zoe's unhappy too. Time for Obulus' debt to be repaid!
