Saki and the others find Mamoru after he runs away before reuniting with Squonk, a Monster Rat that Saki once saved – and who has now saved Mamoru.

Tomiko defends Saki before the Board and admits to their protection from memory alterations. Mamoru and Maria have 3 days to avoid Board destruction.
S01:E15 - Afterimage
Saki is knocked unconscious seeking Maria and Mamoru before she and Satoru are brought before the Monster Rat’s queen and shocking truths are told.
S01:E16 - To My Beloved Saki
Maria’s farewell letter asks Saki to tell the villagers that she and Mamoru are dead. Saki has dreadful nightmares telling her that Maria must die.
S01:E17 - Footsteps of Destruction
Three years later, Saki is now 26 years old and works in Mutant Management. Satoru tells her of a Monster Rat attack, which explodes into all-out war.
S01:E18 - Scarlet Flower
After the fall of the Giant Hornets and the Robber Flies' epic ascent to victory, the council decides to brutally wipe out the new victors.
S01:E19 - Darkness
Following the Monster Rats' surprise attack, a pair of pals takes a journey to the hospital to investigate an injured friend's condition.
S01:E20 - Cold Sunlight
A pair of friends creates a diversion and sneaks off to a village to warn townspeople of an impending attack, but run into a powerful mutant fish.
