Little Monsters - Hide & Cheat
2012 documentary
This 3D documentary presents some of the animal kingdoms strangest survival strategies. The most startling behavior patterns arent found among the classic big animals like lions or polar bears, but among natures smaller creatures: poison dart frogs, chameleons, praying mantises and scorpions, to name but a few. These Little Monsters are masters of survival. Until recently, only a handful of scientists had the technical means to study them up close. But now, with its ingenious combination of slow-motion 3D and time-lapse 3D sequences, Little Monsters sets new standards in the third dimension , yielding unbelievable scenes the world has never seen and felt before.

Sea Of Death
2011 history
Sea of Death is the ultimate documentary film about a catastrophe many times greater than Titanic: the sinking of three German refugee ships at the end of World War II when 20 000 people lost their lives. It combines unique under water footage from the divers who discovered the Steuben in 2005, interviews with survivors who have kept their trauma a secret for sixty years and access to secret sources in Russia that case new light on the tragic event. Towards the end of the Second World War millions of German civilians fled from the onslaught of the Soviet Army. Women, children, hospitalized soldiers together they crammed the Polish ports, their last chance of being evacuated. The situation was chaotic, the ships were loaded way over capacity. Off the coast, Soviet submarines were lying in wait, ready to attack any ship that ventured out into the Baltic Sea. The under water footage of the three wrecks Wilhelm Gustloff, Steuben and Goya is starkingly graphic: personal belongings left in panic sixty years ago

But with human development on the horizon, the race is now on to ensure that Congos gorillas have a permanent home in the future. Chloes solution is radical, yet simple: she wants to habituate a family of gorillas to human contact. Fish Wars
2010 nature-wildlife
The seas of the Asia Pacific stand as one of the last major centres of marine biodiversity in the world. But the vast carbon footprint left in the ocean has led global fisheries experts to demand drastic action. If that doesnt happen, they warn, all that that will be left in our oceans will be jellyfish. Meanwhile, a war is being waged. Illegal fishing has robbed Indonesia of an estimated $3.2bn in losses from poaching. Corrupt military forces do little to combat the trawlers, taking bribes and selling fake licenses to foreign poachers. Indonesia's coral reefs help to support one of the largest marine fisheries in the world, generating 3.6bn tons of fish each year. At stake here is not just the livelihood of a region, but also the future of one of the worlds greatest marine areas. We follow marine biologists from the WWF fighting to not just to protect, but to rebuild the oceans. This is a war for fish, for nature, and for the planet.

Return Of The Buffalo - Restoring The Great American Prairie
2010 nature-wildlife
The vast area of the American prairie tells the story of an experiment that has been going for 150 years: the settlement of the American Midwest. Countless ghost towns define the appearance of deserted swathes of land. The radical vision of a scientist couple from New York sparked a new debate about the economic recovery of the region. Their plan is to make the Great Plains a public property, a common area, and reverse it to its original condition. Project Buffalo Commons is the attempt to turn back the demographics and history of the American west to the time before the settlement. Fences should be torn down to allow hundreds of thousands of buffalos to roam freely across the vast plains. The intended goal is that an expected rise in tourism and a highly efficient buffalo meat production will provide people of this region with security and a new future.

During her journey, the film shows how owls fly so silently and hunt so efficiently. It illustrates what they have meant to humans since ancient times, and how they live beside us today. Killer Algae
2009 science
Worldwide there are more than 115.000 known species of algae 200 of them are extremely toxic! During algal bloom large sea areas of many square kilometres are contaminated by their neurotoxic substances. The consequence: millions of fish die and are flushed on to the beaches. The toxins are also absorbed by mussels and this way can enter the food chain of human beings. After eating contaminated mussels food poisoning, permanent loss of memory or death by apnoea can occur, depending on the kind and amount of neurotoxic substance. In 1995 eight guests of a restaurant in Amsterdam were hospitalized after eating mussels all had eaten from mussels that had come from a small breeding farm in Killary Fjord, in the west of Ireland. Even so the mussels have been intensely examined in a lab, it took more than ten years until scientists could detect the reason for the food poisoning. They discovered a new toxic species of algae. Golfing With Animals
2010 nature-wildlife
Golfing with Animals is a film about a paradox! The paradox is, that there actually are wild animals and plants in manmade environments, close to humans. The habitat may seem tame but the law of the jungle is always in use amongst those animals that live there. The survival of the fittest is obvious for those creatures that live in an apparently safe and tame environment. Is a golf course a wildlife environment? We are turning the expression wildlife upside down. The purpose is to show an artificial environment as wildlife. Golfing with Animals show the habitants and guests (except humans) you can meet in a man made habitat and that it can be very rich of species. In the film we meet conflicts in a no-mans-land but also that humans and wild animals can coexist in peace. We have chosen to use a golf course as an example. An environment that is wilder than expected! Golfing with Animals is told from an entertaining and humoristic angle. Through the view of the animals looking at the game of golf and its partici
