Welcome to Sunrise Village, a little piece of trailer park heaven outside Phoenix, AZ. Here, retired war vets Sam (Burt Reynolds), Carl (Robert Loggia) and Eddie (Charles Durning) are enjoying their “Golden Years” whilst vying for the attentions of their sexy neighbor Christine (Raquel Welch). Into this idyllic setting drops wiseguy Angelo Nitti who, in exchange for his testimony is rechristened “John Brandin” by the Witness Protection Program. Unfortunately, he “forgets” to mention that he has stolen over $4 million from the Mob, and when Sam, Carl and Eddie stumble upon Nitti’s hidden stash of cash, the hapless trio thinks their ship has finally come in. Now both the Mafia and the Feds are coming to town looking to take them all down!

Nancy Nestor (Wendie Malik) sees herself as the perfect wife and mother, and now that her teenage genius son Hal (Justin Long) has been named high school valedictorian, her own moment of public glory is close at hand. Unfortunately, it’s been over three months since Hal locked himself in an upstairs bathroom to work out the mathematical equations in his head while also watching the cheerleader next door (Danica McKellar) bounce on a trampoline. To Nancy’s dismay, no amount of threatening or coaxing seems to have any effect on Hal. Noted psychologist Dr. Curly Weeks (Ed Begley Jr.) comes to her aid to develop a program that just might get her obsessive-compulsive son out of the bathroom and onto the graduation podium.
