Season 1 Episode 12 - The Last Dragon

It is the Period of Reflection, the one time a year when Guardians spend the entire night meditating in their temples. Ang is dealing with the sacrifice he made when becoming the Golden Dragon - losing the only family he ever knew - Ling. But when Ang’s meditation prompts a vision from the previous Golden Dragon, he learns something that leaves him stunned. The Last Dragon was his father. Ling learns the same thing in a vision of her own - but instead of stunned, she’s furious. As far as she’s concerned, her father simply discarded them. The Zodiac Master channels her anger into his plan to take advantage of the mediating Guardians and steal three power bands, then attack the Dojo for the ultimate prize - the Dragon Power Band. Ang learns that, when he and Ling were only four, his father erased their memories of him for their own protection. He knew that his enemies would use his children against him if they knew the truth. So when Ling leads the attack on the Dojo, Ang tells her of the sacrifice their father had made. Ling is confused, forcing the Zodiac Master to attack with the combined powers of the Snake, Tiger, and Rabbit. Ang is clearly not going to survive this onslaught, but when Ling is contacted a final time by her father, and sees that he indeed loved his children and how the sacrifice broke his heart, she joins her brother in defeating the Zodiac Master. Ultimately, until she can sort through her feelings, she rejoins the Zodiac Master... leaving Ang clinging to the hope that she will one day come back.

S01:E01 - Trial by Fire (Pt. 1)

The last Golden Dragon has passed on and a new Dragon must be chosen before evil strikes. Master Chin takes the twins to the secret Temple Of The Dragons (hidden inside the mountain beneath the Dragon Dojo in Hong Kong). At the temple Master Chin presents the Band of Power to the next Golden Dragon… fifteen-year-old Ang Leung! While Ang’s twin sister, Ling, protests, the Zodiac Master attacks. Ang transforms into the Golden Dragon and drives him off. Unwilling to accept second place, Ling disappears leaving Ang filled with apprehension… he’s too young and inexperienced… is he really ready to be the Golden Dragon!

S01:E02 - Trial by Fire (Pt. 2)

Synopsis: Ang has only been Golden Dragon for one day but he’s already overwhelmed. Not only has his twin sister disappeared, but Xuan Chi, the Monkey Guardian, showed up demanding that the Golden Dragon help find his pirated power band… which for all anyone knows might have been sold along with the rest of his temple to any one of a hundred museums around the world. But things only get worse for Ang when the Zodiac Master lures Ling to the dark side, bestowing on her the power band of the Dragon Of The Darkest Yin. Ang, the fledgling Golden Dragon, must face off against his own twin sister, who has become THE SHADOW DRAGON!

S01:E03 - Eye on the Tiger

The Zodiac Master targets the Temple of the Tigers, not caring that Beingal, the Tiger Guardian, was once one of Ling’s dearest friends. Beingal puts up a noble fight, but the Shadow Dragon defeats her and Zodiac Master takes the power of Tiger. Later, the Zodiac Master uses the Tiger power against the Golden Dragon, while Ling, the Shadow Dragon suddenly discovers what it means to have a monkey on your back, thanks to Xuan Chi.

S01:E04 - Hero Worship

Ang can hardly contain himself when he finds out that his favorite martial arts movie star, Wang Lee, is filming his latest epic on location in downtown Hong Kong. Alas, Zodiac Master learns from Ling of Ang's interest in the actor, and tries to take him hostage. Ang prevents the abduction and hides Wang Lee in the old dojo, only to discover that his hero is a pampered, spoiled egotist -- who may prove to be more trouble than he is worth.

S01:E05 - Terra Unfirma

The Zodiac Master gains control of the Dog and Ram power bands, two elemental EARTH signs (the other two are Dragon and Ox). The combined powers allow him to generate earthquakes. Ang, Master Chin and Xuan confront Zodiac Master at the Temple of the Ox by the Great Wall of China. When the Zodiac Master wins the Ox band, he discovers that even he cannot control that much elemental power

S01:E06 - Master of Sarcasm

When Ang’s rashness almost leads to disaster, Master Chin takes him and Xuan Chi to Vietnam for further training from his old friend Shoong, a veritable giant of a man with a gruff and sarcastic manner. Shoong lives like a hermit, with only a pig for company. At first, Shoong’s gruff sarcasm angers Ang, but he comes to appreciate that there’s much to learn from the big man. When the Zodiac Master and Ling track them down, Ang discovers that the unlikely Shoong is actually the Guardian of the Pig Power Band. Ang comes to realize that true wisdom lies in looking beyond the obvious surface appearance

S01:E07 - Temple of Changes

In a moment of self-doubt, Ang reveals to Master Chin that his sister, Ling, would have made a better Golden Dragon candidate. Ang soon embarks on a journey into his deepest, darkest Yin. Xuan Chi and Beingal think their friend is going crazy as he battles a mysterious Dark Figure no one else can see. In the end, Ang’s opponent turns out to be an older version of himself - and Ang comes away from the test with renewed purpose and some amazing new Golden Dragon power

S01:E08 - Mind Bender

When Ling attacks Ang in the Temple of the Dragons, her Shadow Dragon Power Blasts cause a cave in. Ang is hit in the head with falling debris and loses his memory. His sister convinces him he works for The Zodiac Master

S01:E09 - Chow Chow

All of the Temple Guardians have arrived at the Dragon Temple for a very special ceremony honoring the new Golden Dragon, but Ang is missing. In response to a convincing plea for help, he’s gone to meet Ling. After Chin and Beingal discover Ling’s e-mail, Chin asks Chow, the Dog Guardian, to track Ang. Meanwhile, Ang has walked into a trap and is forced to hide his band before he is captured with it. When Chow and Xuan find the band, Xuan Chi can’t resist powering up and becoming Xuan Chi-Dragon! In the end, Ling proves she’s still not ready to break free from the forces of darkness, but we realize that there still may be hope for her after all.

S01:E10 - Monkey Mission

When Xuan Chi begins to experience flashbacks to the first raid on his temple, Master Chin realizes that the Monkey Band may in fact be calling to him. Xuan, Ang, and Beingal head to Chengdu to investigate - but find their arrival hampered by not only the original Temple Raiders, but Zodiac Master himself!

S01:E11 - The Emperor of the Darkest Yin

SHUN LO, the Red Chi Master and hireling of Zodiac Master, ambushes Ang and Xuan Chi when they sneak out of the dojo to see the newest Wang Lee movie. Shun Lo is captured and is angry at Zodiac Master for not warning him of the Golden Dragon’s power. The warrior offers to help the Golden Dragon make a surprise strike against Zodiac Master. But the warrior lures Ang and Xuan Chi into a trap aboard a booby-trapped junk, and they barely escape. Ang learns the dangers of trying to use evil means, even in a good cause. But Zodiac Master is making the same mistake when he draws power from the mummy of the Emperor of the Darkest Yin, unaware that the emperor is actually using the Zodiac Master to restore his own power.

S01:E12 - The Last Dragon

S01:E13 - Spy Hard

Ang is lured out of the Dragon Temple by an apparent attack on the Rooster Temple. But Zodiac Master’s real target is the Dragon Dojo/Temple, and with Ang absent, he (and Ling) begin the process of corrupting the Dojo’s guardian spirit. Ang teams up with the Rooster guardian, a secret agent-style master of covert activities, to infiltrate the Dragon Dojo/Temple (now in enemy hands), unaware that its defenses have become decidedly lethal

S01:E14 - Sister, Sister

Master Chin, Ang, Beingal and Xuan Chi come to the aid of Hye, the lovely Guardian of the Rabbit Temple, after Zodiac Master and Ling steal her Power Band. Ling uses the Band to split herself into a quartet of doppelgangers. Alas, because the band was damaged during the theft, it produces four flawed copies. The four Lings go on a rampage in Singapore, even as Beingal experiences surprising feelings of jealousy over Ang's interest in Hye. Worse, the longer the four Lings wear the Band, the more unstable they become. Ang challenges Ling to a fight, but rather than rely on strength, he uses his smarts and turns the replicas against one another to defeat them

S01:E15 - Associating With Vermin

Ling tricks Ang into believing she's stolen the Rat Guardian's Power Band. As a result, Ang fights Ming, the Rat Guardian, believing that she is Ling in disguise. When both are exhausted from battle, Ling acquires the Rat Power Band and escapes. Ming, Xuan Chi, and Ang have to stop her, but it takes teamwork from all of them as Ang learns preconceptions can blind one to the truth.

S01:E16 - Shell Game

When the Monkey Band is found and placed on an ancient suit of armor, Zodiac Master uses his dark powers to bring the Armor to life to destroy the Golden Dragon, but his plan backfires

S01:E17 - Thief of Power

Master Chin pulls off a prison break out and the convict, Tommy Vu, attacks the Teens at the Dragon Dojo. In the aftermath of the attack, our heroes find a journal belonging to Master Chin. It leads to a couple of startling discoveries. Master Chin was once the Guardian of the Temple of the Pigs AND there is a dormant cycle for all power bands – for 12 hours, once every 12 years. During this period, the band loses all its power. If anyone touches the band during this down period they will absorb all its power into their own body forever. The band will become a useless trinket. Convict Tommy Vu (a dishonored X-Pig Guardian) sets out to absorb the Power of the Pig.

S01:E18 - Horse Play

Following a call for help, Ang, Master Chin, and Xuan sail the oceans in search of the Horse Temple - so secret that not even Master Chin knows where it is. Fire and smoke from an erupting volcano leads them to an uncharted island. After searching dense jungle a lake stands in the way of a further search, so Master Chin demonstrates walking on water. When Ang tries it he falls through because of his lack of focus. Xuan laughs and Ang goes off in a huff to find the temple on his own. An earthquake opens a chasm, which swallows Ang. Master Chin and Xuan are horrified. Meanwhile, Ang awakens in the Horse Temple to find a beautiful young maiden bending over him to see if he's okay. Above ground Master Chin and Xuan are mistakenly ambushed by the Horse Guardian. She relates that a ghost called the Immortal Maiden stole the Horse Power Band. Now the elements are out of balance and the entire island might blow! In the Horse Temple the Immortal Maiden tries to entrance Ang to be by her side forever. When Ang refuses the beautiful maiden turns into a dangerous Old Hag! The Golden Dragon’s valor is indeed tested as he fights to reclaim the horse band and his freedom.

S01:E19 - It's Always Darkest Before the Xuan

Xuan Chi gets beaten up physically -- at the hands of Ling and Zodiac Master -- and then psychologically -- when Low Chou, his cranky predecessor as Monkey Guardian, arrives to excoriate him for not protecting the Monkey Temple. Desperate to make amends for his failures, Xuan Chi hunts down the Shadow Monkey Band, hoping he can handle the effects of its power and use it to help him find the lost 'good' Monkey Band. Instead, its evil energy steers him down the path of corruption. With the help of Beingal, Master Chin and even the ornery Low Chou, Ang stages a martial arts intervention to keep Xuan Chi from joining forces with Zodiac Master and Ling.

S01:E20 - Venom

Ling lures Ang and Xuan to the Tiger Temple so that Zodiac Master can attack the Snake Temple with his pet, a huge King Cobra, which strikes the Snake Guardian. Although her special powers keep her from dying, the Snake Guardian is delirious and needs medical attention. Our heroes send Xuan to the nearby village for a doctor. Young Dr. Hood agrees to look after the patient on the journey to Hong Kong and Master Chin. What our heroes don’t realize is that Dr. Hood is actually Zodiac Master’s King Cobra, which has transformed through the magic of the snake power band and the darkest yin. One by one, the good doctor knocks out all of Ang’s companions, until the Golden Dragon must face the fierce Snake Warrior, who also wears Beingal’s Tiger power band. But Ang has his own surprise up his sleeve, because he is about to become, Double Dragon!
