Mike Sweeney is back on track. His wife Audrey is home and expecting a baby in a few weeks, daughter Sadie is about to graduate from the police academy and is secretly expecting a child of her own with boyfriend Ray Jr. Ray Prager has vanished from Durham without a trace. Now the Superintendent of the Durham police precinct, Mike is on the task force investigating the gruesome murders of two young brothers, James and Mark McHalphie, who were drug runners along the 401 highway corridor. Joining his team is another cop, ex military, Ivan Sujic, who unbeknownst to Mike, has just killed his wife Katya in a jealous rage, beating her to death in the woods.
