Mac finally comes face to face with his long-distance chess opponent, Mike L. Rossovitch, who turns out to be a twelve-year-old prodigy set on winning the match. Polly immediately begins a human-interest story on the two unlikely chess warriors while Robin develops her first crush on the boy. Overwhelmed and concerned, Robin confides in Mac about her "tingly" feelings about Mike. Then Mike pulls the Major aside, concerned about his own "feelings" about Robin.
