KWAI-SZE prepares western breakfast deliberately and SHUI-FUNG invites KAM-KUK to try but KAM-KUK refuses to recognize KWAI-SZE as his daughter-in-law. KO-HING discovers SIU-SUEN's handkerchief at the door with a note informing them that SIU-SUEN was kidnapped and a hundred silver dollars of ransom money is requested. MING-FUNG complains that KWAI-SZE has taught SIU-SUEN cycling. KAM-KUK thinks that it is difficult to raise a hundred silver dollars. When MING-FUNG has raised a hundred silver dollars, the kidnappers suddenly decide to increase the amount to two hundred silver dollars. MING-FUNG tries to seek help from SIN-CHI but SIN-CHI rejects her. She then begs MAN-YEE to speak for her in front of KAM-KUK but MAN-YEE seizes the chance to scold her. SHUI-FUNG persuades KAM-KUK to offer help but KAM-KUK says that the family is penniless and he wishes that SHUI-FUNG could find the gold mine soon. KWAI-SZE brings a fund-raising box and banner to the ancestral hall to raise money from the villagers. A group of male villagers try to tease her. MING-FUNG finally arrives to beg everybody...
