After dragging himself out of the ghetto through hard work and intelligence, Lawrence Butler has earned himself a scholarship to a private prep school. But when he can’t pay his meager tuition, his childhood friend Jimmy – a street punk whose spree of crimes have recently turned to murder – offers a quick solution to his problem. Kojak is hot on Jimmy’s trail when he discovers that Lawrence has joined Jimmy’s gang…and is going to be involved in their next robbery. Kojak becomes determined to save Lawrence from slipping back into the ghetto – a mistake Kojak himself avoided when he was the same age.
