Valentine Warner: Coast to Coast

The first leg of Valentine's journey takes him from Cornish coastal waters to the freshwater rivers of Devon. He starts in St. Ives, to catch the glorious mackerel.

Valentine starts this leg of my fishing and cooking odyssey on Llangennith beach, on the Gower peninsular, where the wide shallow beach is the perfect place to catch Flounder.

This stage of Valentine's journey takes him to the chin clear chalk streams of Berkshire and then south into Hampshire. He begins in the river Kennet valley, looking for Grayling.

Valentine begins this leg of his journey coarse fishing for Perch in the Thames, then heads eastwards to some misty lakes in Essex, then out into the grey north sea.

This time Valentine is fishing his way up the coast along the easterly edge of England, starting in Caister-on-Sea on the hunt for Herring, and finishing in Cromer.
