Los Angeles|2019. Times are shitty|and theyre about to get worse. When Scout Durwoods girlfriend dumps her unexpectedly|Scout takes stock in her life and determines that from now on|if something doesnt feel one hundred percent authentic to her|shes not doing it! Later|at a brunch rave Scout and her BFFs|Britney and Ashley|run into a mutual frenemy/new mom|Jade. Scout makes waves by refusing to hold Jades baby. Another woman at the brunch rave is impressed by Scouts groundbreaking views and asks to join the group. Soon|Scout has amassed a small following for her self-declared sovereign nation state|SCOUTOPIA. At the height of her power|Scout is confronted by her doppelgnger|who wreaks havoc on her cult|leaving Scout with nothing to show from her former empire other than a lukewarm relationship with her rescue dog|Dogue. Meanwhile|Britney realizes shes been in the same Lyft for over twenty four hours. The driver|Britneys mysterious twin|explains the importance of being a Britney. Britneys are followers|who maintain order by supporting their hive. Britney resolves not to let her leader down|and runs away to convince Scout to fight for what she believes in|take on her alien self|and win back her cult.Scouts doppelgnger turns out to be from the far away planet of Scoutopia|where everyone is a multiple of Scout. According to the theory of the multiverse (no Hollywood movie is complete without a reference to the multiverse) there are infinite topias: planets where everyone is exactly the same. Ashley shoots actual Scout in an attempt to protect her from Alien Scout|but Alien Scout says the bullet can do no harm|because they are occupying a portal to Scoutopia where there is no such thing as deadly force. Much to Ashleys surprise|Scout accepts an invitation to her home planet. Ashley refuses Ashley-topia because she believes no group should be limited to a single set of beliefs|even if theyre good ones. Within minutes|Britney is off on her next adventure|supporting micro loans for women in the developing world with an organization called You Are Not A Loan.
