While it may be tempting to dismiss their owners as obsessive eccentrics and social misfits who prefer canines to humans, For the Love of Dog reaches beyond the stereotype to examine this bizarre sub-culture. In a series of intertwined narratives, we meet some of North America’s most passionate and colourful owners and their dogs. These are people from all walks of life who throw lavish dog weddings, attend “doga classes” and “paw-jama” parties, dance with their dogs in theatrical extravaganzas and hire psychics to re-connect with dogs that have passed on.
