Sonatine

A world-weary gangster in Tokyo is assigned to take his clan to Okinawa to help settle a dispute. He's suspicious of the assignment, and within a couple days, he finds himself in the middle of a bloody conflict. He retreats to a remote beach, where he rescues a young woman from an assault. Soon it becomes clear he's been sent to Okinawa so that others can take over his lucrative territory, and he plans revenge.
