The zombie apocalypse. Helen (15), tries to get her kid brother Barney to safety before he turns zombie. Along with her boyfriend Kevin, they find shelter in an isolated house where Dan has been holed up for months.Dan shows the children to a school to recharge their GPS so that they can get on their way. There, they fall into the hands of Father Albert and his cult of fanatic followers.Father Albert sees Helen as his ticket into a secure valley of survivalists. When he discovers Barney is infected, Helen agrees to go peacefully with Father Albert if he lets Kevin and Barney leave.But Helen frees herself from the fanatic Followers and returns to Dans house only to find Barney -now fully zombie- chained in the attic with Dans zombie wife. In hot pursuit, Father Albert attacks to recapture Helen.Helen defeats Father Albert and his minions with the help of Dan and his zombie wife. She lets Barney go to live with the zombies while she establishes a shelter for human survivors.
