Faith in the White House
This program explores what other Presidents have had to say about faith and how, or if it has been woven in to the fabric of the Nation. Was George W. Bush the first major political figure willing to admit he was firmly fixed in the principles of Christianity? Our review of history would seem to suggest exactly the opposite. George Washington: "It is impossible to rightly govern in the world without God and the Bible." John Adams: I consider a decent respect for Christianity among the best recommendations for public service. Abraham Lincoln: It is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God. Thomas Jefferson: God who gave us life gave us liberty.
