CITY OF JOY tells the story of a dispirited American doctor (Patrick Swayze), a British woman who runs a clinic for the poor (Pauline Collins), and an Indian couple--all of whose lives come together in perhaps the most impoverished place on earth, the section of Calcutta known as the CITY OF JOY.
