Based on W.O. Mitchell's classic short stories, Jake & the Kid chronicles a young boy's idyllic childhood on the Prairies and his relationship with his mother's hired hand, Jake. Mitchell's heart-warming stories of lost puppies, Christmas blizzards and buckskin colts were a staple of Canada's CBC radio in the 1950's and won Stephen Leacock awards for humour.
