The Adventures of Flash Gordon
Since its creation in 1934, the ever popular comic strip, Flash Gordon, has set the standard for sci-fi action, even inspiring modern day classics like Star Wars. After saving the Earth from a devastating collision with a runaway comet, Flash Gordon is forced to crash-land his spaceship on Mongo a bizarre planet ruled by the tyrannical Emperor, Ming the Merciless. Flash and his companions, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov, face slavery and death at the hands of the evil Ming. To save themselves and liberate the citizens of Mongo, they set off on a series of thrilling adventures, including action-packed battles with Witch Women Warriors, froglike Gillmen, Squirlons, giant ice worms, dreaded Hawkmen, River Dragons, and Mings ruthless Metalmen.
