Embry brings huge earnest energy to Preston Meyers, the guy arriving at the party with one last romantic plan and a whole lot of feelings. He makes Preston sweet without sanding off the awkwardness, which is exactly why the character still feels so recognizable.
Lauren Ambrose
Ambrose plays Denise Fleming with sharp timing and zero interest in playing along with anyone else's high school mythology. Denise sees through the room faster than almost everyone in it, and Ambrose gives her the dry, grounded edge that keeps the chaos honest.
Seth Green
Green's Kenny Fisher shows up determined to reinvent himself before the night is over, and every choice is louder than the last. The joke works because Green commits fully to Kenny's confidence, panic, and very specific idea of cool.
