Coraline Finds a Better Life Behind the Little Door. Or Does She?
The stop-motion favorite is headed to Tubi November 1, complete with one very tempting Other World and a button-eyed reason to think twice.
The Rock has a badge, Kevin Hart has questions, and nobody's ready for the chaos. Their action-comedy adventure arrives on Tubi November 1.
Remind MeHigh school reunions are supposed to be about awkward small talk, questionable glow-ups, and pretending you remember someone whose name has completely escaped you. Getting recruited into a CIA operation by a former classmate? That's a little outside the reunion itinerary. Especially when that classmate is Dwayne Johnson.
Arriving on Tubi November 1, Central Intelligence (2016) pairs the Rock and Kevin Hart for an action-comedy where the biggest surprise isn't the espionage. It's discovering just how dramatically two former classmates' lives have changed. Hart's Calvin Joyner was once the golden boy of his graduating class, while Johnson's Bob Stone was the kid everyone underestimated. Fast-forward twenty years, and Bob is a muscle-bound CIA agent caught up in a dangerous conspiracy, with Calvin somehow dragged along for the ride. Talk about a reunion nobody RSVP'd for.
Between the unexpected friendship, ridiculous misunderstandings, and two leads who operate at completely different energy levels, Central Intelligence has everything you'd want from a buddy comedy with a side of espionage. The action keeps escalating, the jokes come fast, and Calvin's attempts to make sense of Bob's world are practically an adventure of their own. Tubi's Action Comedy collection is a fitting home for this kind of mayhem, where a perfectly ordinary day can become an action movie before lunch.
“Bring your calculator and your nerve. This assignment gets loud.”
Bob might look like the kind of CIA agent who handles dangerous missions before breakfast, but Johnson gives him an unexpectedly lovable personality beneath all that muscle. His almost childlike enthusiasm for reconnecting with Calvin makes Bob both hilarious and difficult to predict, especially when he switches from awkwardly eager former classmate to highly trained operative without missing a beat. Watching Johnson trade his usual action-hero seriousness for Bob's overexcited best-friend energy is half the fun.
Calvin was once the guy everyone expected to succeed, but adulthood hasn't exactly delivered the highlight reel he imagined. Hart makes his frustration painfully relatable, playing a man who would prefer to solve his problems with a spreadsheet rather than a loaded weapon. His frantic reactions and desperate attempts to understand Bob's world give the movie much of its comedic momentum.
Ryan brings a sharp, no-nonsense presence that contrasts with Bob and Calvin's wildly unpredictable partnership. Her composed authority makes her a interesting addition to the chaos, especially as Calvin struggles to figure out whose version of events he should believe. Ryan keeps the espionage mystery grounded, giving the audience another reason to question whether Bob's seemingly ridiculous adventure is quite what it appears.
