Resident Evil brings the Hive to Tubi soon
The 2002 action-horror spark plug returns with lasers, zombies, and industrial-strength panic.
Remind MeBefore Resident Evil became a full-blown movie franchise, the 2002 original kicked the door open with leather, lasers, zombies, and a very rude supercomputer. It took the survival-horror pulse of the games and turned it into a slick, claustrophobic action movie with teeth.
Milla Jovovich leads as Alice, who wakes up near a sealed underground lab with her memory scrambled and danger already moving in the vents. From there, we follow an elite team into the Hive, where the Umbrella Corporation has left behind secrets, experiments, and a security system with no interest in mercy.
Resident Evil arrives on Tubi soon, and it is exactly the kind of early-2000s horror-sci-fi collision worth putting on your list before it drops.
The Cast
Milla Jovovich
Milla Jovovich plays Alice with cool, stripped-down intensity. She wakes into chaos with no clear answers, then turns survival into instinct. The movie builds around her physicality, her focus, and that unnerving sense that she may be more dangerous than she knows.
Michelle Rodriguez
Michelle Rodriguez plays Rain Ocampo, the kind of soldier who makes every hallway feel like a fight waiting to happen. She brings grit, pressure, and a sharp edge to the team, grounding the sci-fi horror in pure close-quarters panic.
Eric Mabius
Eric Mabius plays Matt, whose presence adds suspicion and urgency to the mission. He is not just another person trapped underground. His questions pull at the edges of what really happened, giving the movie an extra charge beneath the creature chaos.
Colin Salmon
Colin Salmon plays One, the mission leader trying to keep the team moving when the Hive turns against them. His calm command makes the operation feel professional, which only makes it more satisfying when the system starts rewriting every rule.
“The Hive is sealed, and the Red Queen is not negotiating.”
Sneak Peek
Why Watch It
Resident Evil works because it moves like a trap snapping shut. The underground setting gives every corridor a threat level, and Paul W.S. Anderson keeps the movie lean, glossy, and mean in all the right ways. It is game-adaptation cinema with its boots on the floor and its alarm lights flashing.
This is for anyone who likes their horror with tactical gear, their sci-fi with corporate rot, and their action with a little industrial-metal swagger. The movie has a clean, nasty rhythm: enter the facility, lose control, keep moving.
Add it to your list now if you want the origin point of a franchise that helped define action-horror for a generation. Resident Evil is coming soon to Tubi.
