The Core is drilling toward Tubi

A giant sci-fi disaster mission is headed your way, with Earth's survival hanging on one impossible descent.

Remind Me

The Core belongs to a very specific, very fun corner of sci-fi action: the fate-of-the-world movie that looks at an impossible problem and says, fine, let's build something wild enough to punch straight through it.

This is a disaster adventure with a giant hook, a team of specialists heading beneath the surface of the Earth to stop a planetary crisis before life up top runs out of options. It is big, loud, earnest, and fully committed to the ride.

Jon Amiel's 2003 sci-fi spectacle is coming soon to Tubi, which means now is the time to put it on your list before the ground starts shaking.

The Cast

Aaron Eckhart

Eckhart plays Dr. Josh Keyes, the scientist pulled into a crisis that keeps getting bigger by the minute. He brings the movie its grounded center, the guy trying to think clearly while the planet turns into a pressure cooker.

Hilary Swank

Swank plays Major Rebecca Childs, the pilot tasked with steering the impossible mission through conditions no training program could ever fully prepare her for. She gives the crew a sharp, steady presence when panic would be the easier option.

Delroy Lindo

Lindo plays Dr. Ed Brazzelton, the visionary behind the vessel that can do what no machine should be able to do. He gives the movie a spark of mad-science confidence, the kind that makes the impossible feel almost reasonable.

“If the planet is breaking, we go where the break began.”

Why Watch It

The hook is deliciously huge: an elite team, a custom-built vessel, and a mission that goes in the exact opposite direction of every space movie. Instead of leaving Earth to save humanity, The Core sends its crew into the place nobody was meant to reach.

That gives the movie its particular charge. It has action, danger, science-fiction problem solving, and the pleasure of watching smart people argue, improvise, and keep moving when the rules of survival keep changing.

This is for anyone who likes their adventure movies with countdown clocks, high-pressure teamwork, and a sense of scale big enough to crack the planet open. The Core is coming soon to Tubi.
