The Royals Has a Crown and Absolutely No Interest in Behaving

Elizabeth Hurley leads a fictional royal family where scandal, romance, succession, and family secrets come with the title. All four seasons start streaming free on Tubi October 15.

Remind Me

Being royal already looks exhausting before somebody adds a television drama.

Every relationship becomes public interest. Family problems become national problems. Dating comes with headlines. Somebody always wants the crown. And when the palace doors close, everyone immediately stops pretending the family is functioning normally.

Starting October 15, The Royals is bringing all four seasons of its fictional British monarchy to Tubi, led by Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena. The series imagines a modern royal family dealing with the familiar pressures of duty, succession, and maintaining the institution while adding enough sex, betrayal, romance, partying, power plays, and family secrets to keep the tabloids employed indefinitely.

The Royals isn't asking you to approach the palace like a history lesson. This is royalty turned all the way toward soap: glamorous people making questionable decisions in enormous rooms while family loyalty and personal ambition repeatedly discover they have scheduling conflicts. Which is exactly why four seasons sounds less intimidating and more like permission. And once palace life has you craving more accents and drama, Tubi's British TV collection can keep the binge going.

The Cast

Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena

Keeping the monarchy polished requires somebody willing to manage both the crown and the people wearing it, and Hurley makes Helena look perfectly comfortable doing both. Her glamour fits the queen immediately, but Hurley also gives Helena the calculation of someone constantly aware that her family has a public image to maintain, even when the private version is becoming significantly harder to control.

William Moseley as Prince Liam

Liam is much more comfortable enjoying royal privilege before responsibility suddenly gets a lot closer. Moseley lets that shift happen without immediately transforming the prince into the perfect future king, keeping his charm and impulsiveness intact while Liam starts realizing that being next in line comes with expectations his old life never prepared him to meet.

Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor

Tabloid chaos practically follows Eleanor through the palace, and Park makes the rebellious princess far more interesting than her reputation suggests. The partying, sharp humor, and refusal to behave give Park plenty to play with, but Eleanor's vulnerability underneath all that armor keeps her from becoming simply the royal family's designated scandal generator.

Jake Maskall as Prince Cyrus

Standing near the throne is apparently enough to start imagining yourself sitting on it. Maskall embraces Cyrus's ambition, entitlement, and appetite for palace politics, giving the prince the kind of theatrical scheming that makes every family gathering feel like somebody should probably check the succession rules afterward.

“Come for the crown. Stay because this family has no idea how to behave quietly.”
