Saving Hope
Season 5 Episode 11 - Nightmares & Dreamscapes
Three brothers are in a car accident together, and only one has survived – though only barely. The spirits of the other two brothers beg Charlie (Michael Shanks) to save their brother’s life and spare their father the heartache of losing all his children in one day. While Charlie and the team operate on the extensive injuries, Charlie is haunted by Spirit Blake (Steve Arbuckle), who is determined to move on from the spirit world – even if it’s hell that is waiting for him. In the meantime, until Charlie helps him, Blake is going to make Charlie’s life hell in ways that puts the patient on the table at risk. Charlie has to give Blake the love he never received in order to pop him. Sydney (Stacey Farber) treats Trudy Stein (Teresa Pavlinek) a 40-year-old free spirit who impregnated herself and is rebooting her life, after she had a fall. Tests reveal that the fall did not hurt the baby, but her brain is swelling, so Shahir (Huse Madhavji) has to perform an emergency craniotomy to remove the pressure. To preserve the skullcap until it is ready to be re-attached, it is inserted into Trudy’s pregnant belly. Zach (Benjamin Ayres) and Maggie (Julia Taylor Ross) deal with a mysterious man, Bart, who has come into the E.R. covered in blood that is not his, and that he doesn’t know how it got there. That question is answered when his bodybuilder roommate is in the next cubicle over with a bloody, broken nose, caused by Bart (Matt Lemche). Bart does not remember attacking his roommate, but turns out he was sleepwalking when he did it, and the doctors diagnose and treat him for a sleep disorder. Sydney gets offered a job in London, England and Maggie chooses love over career and decides to go with her.
