Family and friends from all over the world converge at Ally Kovac's home to mark the passing of her husband Vince. As Ally and her kids Romeo and Gigi reel from the shock of their sudden loss, rising politician Tim Williams attempts to erase Vince from a lucrative real estate deal. And in the chaos of the funeral and subsequent wake, surprising situations develop, with unexpected consequences.

With the death of husband and father Vince still fresh, Ally, Romeo and Gigi are all overcome by the need to run away. Tim takes on a new political advisor, but there is still music to be faced at home. Seeking to increase her media profile, Nat arranges for the paparazzi to snap a shot of her with her new flame Conrad. Tim's plane takes off for Singapore, leaving in its wake a vortex of confusing emotions for Max and Christine. The Kovac family comes to the brink of tragedy when Gigi overhears a conversation and takes matters into her own hands.
