Camp Swampy is put on alert with the news that a group of generals from the Pentagon are on their way to inspect an example of the modern armys super soldiers. Unfortunately, General Halftrack selects Beetle as an unlikely candidate. The whole lovable gang, including Zero, Miss Buxley and Sarge, pull together to help Beetle turn the army upside down with their comical antics.

The worlds favorite comic strip couple trades places when Blondie gets a job after Dagwood Bumstead gets firedagain! Blondie solves the familys financial problems in typical Blondie fashion. She gets a job in a local department store almost by accident. But that only leaves Dagwood alone to concoct his fantastic sandwiches and run the house completely on his own, creating comic complications galore!

Dagwood is promised a Big Fat Bonus by Mr. Dithers if he can complete a renovation job on schedule. Confident of his abilities, Dagwood pre-spends the bonus money on a sparkling new diamond ring, for his and Blondies upcoming anniversary. The fun begins in the Bumstead household when Blondie hears about the bonus and spends the money a second time. If only the job is completed on time wishful thinking considering the Bumsteads typical bumbling mishaps.

For Hagar, the lovable Viking, the period known as the Dark Ages was not all that dark. Laden with loot from his latest business trip, the happy-go-lucky Hagar sails for home only to find his loving family turned upside-down.
