ZERO HOUR: THE LAST HOUR OF FLIGHT 11 dramatically recounts the final sixty minutes of American Airlines Flight 11 – an hour, and a flight, that changes the world forever. At 08:46 on the morning of September 11, 2001, Flight 11, a fully fueled Boeing 767, explodes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. It is the first terrorist strike on that day of infamy. On the fateful morning, Mohammed Atta and a small army of hijackers take thousands of lives, all in the name of God. The sheer number of dead makes it easy to forget that the day’s very first victims are the pilots, flight attendants and passengers aboard Flight 11. The Last Hour of Fight 11 chronicles their story. Using a real-time split-screen format, the viewer experiences these 60 critical minutes as they happen to the key characters: the terrorists, the flight crew, Air Traffic Control in Boston and New York, and a mother-to-be as she makes her way from her Brooklyn home to her office in the Tower. Interviews with key anti-terrorism experts and relatives of the victims are inter-cut with the main theatres of action, offering new information and detailed insight into the story of Flight 11.
