Fear Factor

Contestants will be standing on the back of the fireboat as a helicopter flies in with a cargo net hanging beneath it. The contestants will grab hold of the net and release as many flags as they can while their opponents spray them with water from the fire hoses. Whoever can release the most flags the fastest before falling wins. Each contestant will have the option to drink up to three habanero pepper smoothie shots. For each shot they complete they will be given a flare. Each team of two contestants must then attempt to throw their flares into 55 gallon steel barrels causing them to ignite via special effects. The teams that get the most flares in the barrels will advance. One contestant will be standing at the top of a 60-foot fire slide while their partner is standing at the bottom of the slide-stairs hand-cuffed to the stairs. On go the top contestant will lower a rope with a key attached to the contestant below. Once the contestant below has the key, the top contestant will slide down the slide and swim under a platform that is covered with ice, pop up through one of two manholes and dig through the various ice-piles for a handle prop, all the while their partner is seconds behind performing the same tasks. When each contestant finds the handle they will place it on a valve and turn it. From there they will make their way back to the top of the slide, where there will be 2 more handles - one for each of them - enclosed in a candy-glass box that they must break to retrieve the handles. They must take this second set of handles with them down the slide, under the platform and through the manhole. They must use these handles on the remaining 2 valves to extinguish the flames surrounding their slide for time.

Two large platforms (12x12) are hanging below two separate helicopters that are staggered in altitude (platforms will be level with one another). On go the contestants must leap from one platform to the other collecting and placing flags. Timing their leap is essential since the platforms will sway from as little as three feet from each other to as much as ten feet. Once they collect and place all the flags they must jump into the water to stop the clock. In this pairs stunt, each contestant will be seated in a barber chair that is in the middle of a game wheel. Each piece of the wheel will have a different style of haircut displayed on it. The wheel will be spun, and the piece that stops aligned with the contestants head will determine the type of haircut they will receive. Each contestant on the team will spin the wheel separately and both must get the designated haircut in order to advance. Contestants will each start out straddling the side of a container -- at opposite ends -- high in the air. On go they must make their way to two separate rung-ladders fastened to the side of the container, collecting 3-4 allen wrenches along the way. Once they climb the ladders they will move to two separate portals on top of the container, use their allan wrenches to unfasten the portals, and climb a rope down inside the container. In the container they will race to a mark towards the side, pick up two ropes and touch ends.

One contestant will be locked down to a cargo net that is dangling from the cargo load ramp of a Sikorsky helicopter over the water. On go their partner will start to climb out on the cargo net and grab keys that he will be able to free his partner with. Once he unlocks his partner they must both climb back up the cargo net and back into the helicopter. Whichever couple completes this stunt the fastest wins. Contestants must make their way through a maze of tunneling simulating air conditioning ducts. The tunnels will branch off leading the contestants into different obstacles. Additionally, the size of the tunnels will change throughout the course making it more difficult to maneuver in certain areas. The obstacle will be a vat of gross fluid; a wall of fire that the contestants must extinguish before being able to move forward; rats; and webs covered with spiders. The contestants who take the most amount of time to reach the exit will be eliminated. Contestants must climb into the back of an armored car that is slowly filling with water. On go they must dive into the water and make their way into the back of the truck and collect as much money as they can before running out of air. The team that collects the most money in the predetermined amount of time will win.

In this stunt one partner is placed in a coffin, lowered into a grave, and their partner must free them, while another team is doing the same thing in a head to head competition. Once the coffins are lowered into position two feet of dirt will be dropped on top of them and their partners must dig them out. Once they have reached their partner they will slide open a "sunroof" on the coffin to free them and sprint to the finish line. Whichever couple completes this stunt the fastest wins. The contestants will be placed into a 7-foot deep Plexiglas tank divided into two sections and filled with water. Both contestants will be placed in the same section of the tank. At the bottom of the tank divider will be a small portal covered with knotted rope lattice allowing access into the second section of the tank. Snakes and rats will slowly be dumped into the section of the tank where the contestants are, eventually covering the majority of the waters surface. The contestants must swim to the bottom (coming up for air as needed) and use a knife to cut through the lattice, allowing them to swim through the portal. The couple that takes the greatest amount of time to complete the stunt will be eliminated.

For this Psycho Arc couples stunt, a hearse will be specially fabricated with a standing platform replacing the rear bumper. On the platform will be a winch system connected to a luge-type roller that is closely trailing the hearse. One contestant will be standing on the platform while the other is lying on the luge below. Following the hearse, approximately 100’ behind it, will be a truck with a speed-rail protruding from the front of it. On the end of the speed-rail will be a single flag. On go, the contestant on the platform will begin to winch his partner out away from the hearse toward the truck to collect the flag. Once she collects the flag her partner will winch her back towards the hearse. She will hand him the flag and he must climb on top of the hearse and place the flag at the front of it for time. One contestant will be handcuffed to a shower inside a bathroom at the Bates Motel. The shower will spray simulated blood onto the contestant. Outside of the motel their partner must first find an ax inside an ice machine filled with gross fluids. The contestant will use the ax to knock down the motel room door. Once inside they must use the ax to overturn and break objects in the room to find a key that will unlock their partners handcuffs. After finding the key they must break down the door to the bathroom and unlock their partner from the shower. The contestants who complete this the fastest will win the prize.

In this couples stunt, a team of two contestants will be in a four-walled roof-less office- type room that is filled with desks, chairs, filing cabinets, etc. The room will have a partitioned wall down the middle that will separate the two contestants. On go they must make their way around the room, collecting as many flags as they can - one at a time - and transfer them to a certain spot. Simultaneously, a competing couple will be assembling a plunger handle outside the room. The goal of the couple inside the room is to transfer as many flags as fast as they can before the other couple assembles and engages the plunger. Once the plunger handle is engaged it will activate the explosion of the room, where both contestants in the room will be pulled up and out of it on safety lines. Whichever couple transfers the most flags before the competing couple activates the explosion will win. Contestants will be bound in straight jackets and will have a pre-determined amount of time to escape. How quickly they are able to escape will determine how many camel spiders they will have to eat, with the maximum being 3 spiders per contestant.

For this family stunt at Universal Orlando, the child contestant will be standing on top of the light tower while the parent is hanging from the skid of a helicopter over 200 feet in the air at the complete other end of the lagoon in front of Citywalk. On go, the parent will drop to the water on a hydraulic descender. Once the parent hits the water, they will swim over to a lever that will activate the zip-line their child must ride from the tower down to the lagoon, and continue riding just over the surface of the lagoon, popping balloons along the way. The parent will swim to the child at the end of his run, unclip him, and both will swim back to the rave deck and place a flag for time. For this family stunt at Universal Orlando, both contestants will be on a truss structure supported between the two towers of the Dr. Doom Tower of Fear ride. The child is hung upside down from an overhead pick as their parent balances on a six-inch-wide beam and must swing their child between the two towers towards flags. In addition to pushing their child towards the flags, they must avoid being knocked off the beam when their child swings back at them. Whichever parent/child can retrieve the most flags before falling wins. The parent contestant will be peddling a stationary bicycle. The back wheel of the bike will be a paddle wheel situated in a trough filled with small dead fish. As the parent peddles the bike the rear wheel will launch the fish into the air. Simultaneously, the bicycle handlebars will deliver an electrical shock to the parent as they pedal. The child contestant must catch as many fish as possible in an oversized pair of fishing waders that they will be wearing. At the end of a predetermined time the child will be weighed to determine the quantity of fish they caught. The parent/child teams who catch the most fish will advance. The child is standing on the roof of a Humvee (or other large vehicle) and their parent is navigating through a maze. As the partner drives to designated areas, the child on the roof must retrieve flags. As they are making their way through the maze up to 100 Fear Factor fans in the large crowd will spray them with Super Soakers while others will dump buckets of lard and oil, and other distractions that will make it more difficult to pluck the flags as well as see through the windshield. The child/parent team that completes the course the fastest will win.

Two contestants will be driving a boat down a buoy path while connected to a helicopter above. On go the helicopter will lift the boat 20 feet out of the water to reveal a cargo net hanging underneath the boat from one side to the other. The contestants must climb outside and underneath the boat, traversing the cargo net to the other side while unclipping as many flags as they can before falling into the water below. Whichever couple can unclip the most flags the fastest before falling wins. Both contestants will begin the stunt on their knees inside a plexiglas tank. On go hundreds of dungeness crabs will be dumped into the tank through 4-6 12" diameter pipes, during which time the tank will also be filling with water. Some of the crabs will have keys attached to their bellies. The contestants must find the keys on the crabs and use them to unlock color coded caps (corresponding to the colors of the keys) and then use the caps to plug the pipes that are releasing the crabs and water. Contestants will be standing in a plexi box that is approximately eight feet high, six feet- by-three feet wide, that is suspended over water. Each contestant will be standing in a foot of ice on either side of a dividing wall that contains a small transfer hole. On go the box will begin to fill with ice, and one contestant must transfer pegs to their partner who must place the pegs as fast as they can before getting buried in ice. After a predetermined amount of time, the bottom will drop out releasing all of the ice and the contestants to the water below. Whichever couple can transfer the most pegs before being dropped will win.

In this head to head couples stunt each couple is standing on the edge of the roof of opposing buildings. On go they must work together to try and pull the other couple off the other building. Whichever couple is left standing wins. One of the two contestants will be sealed into a cage filled with roaches. The cage will be locked on the outside. Their partner will be locked into an 18th century style chair with a key hanging on a pendulum above their head. The contestant must chew through a series of pig intestines that will drop the pendulum landing the key in their lap that will allow them to free them self from the chair. Once freed the contestant will grab a key that they will use to unlock the cage enabling their partner to escape and grab a flag for time. The contestants that complete this the fastest will advance. Contestants are driving behind a flatbed and their opponents are releasing barrels off the back of the truck to distract them. In addition to avoiding the barrels, the driver's hands are tied and they are using the pedals while the passenger is reaching over to steer the car. Whichever couple gets their car onto the bed of the truck the fastest wins.

For the Disaster Fear Factor episode, contestants will be standing on opposite sides of a building ledge as a wind and rain storm inhibits their movement. One contestant will be tied to the side of the building by 4 rope lines while the other makes his way toward her, fighting the wind as he goes. Once he reaches her, he will cut her free with a bladeless parachute knife and she will be swept away by the wind for time. Contestants must bob their heads into a container filled with fish sauce and mayonaise, retrieve 10 cockroaches with their mouth and then spit them onto a table. Once this is complete they must eat 10 live cockroaches placed on a plate in front of them. For the Disaster Fear Factor episode, couples will be on their stomachs on Universal Studios’ flash flood set. On go, the floodwaters will run down the river as the contestants fight through it to grab flags. The contestants who can manage to grab the most flags the fastest win.

For this couples stunt, a crane will be driving alongside the edge of a berth with its boom arm extended out over the berth. One contestant will be hanging onto the end of the boom arm while his partner will be waiting in a cannon close by. The contestant on the boom will drop to a landing zone in the water and swim to a platform where he will spark a fuse that leads to the cannon his partner is in. The fuse will ignite the cannon and send his partner flying into the water, where the partner will then swim to an Ultra Boat and place a flag for time. Contestants will start this stunt by jumping into one of two garbage filled dumpster to retrieve one of eight different items. (4 in each dumpster.) Once an item is found the contestants must jump out of the dumpster and run to one of eight trash cans filled with a gross fluid to try and find the matching item. They must continue searching the various trash cans until they find the item that matches what they have pulled out of the dumpster. The contestants will continue this until they have retrieved all eight items from the dumpster and matched them with the corresponding items in the trashcans. A helicopter will be hovering above a berth as a team of 2 contestants on the berth hold onto ski lines connected to it. On go, the helicopter will make it's way down the berth overhead, dragging the contestants on the berth towards the end. At the end, the contestants will crash through a balsa-wood fire wall and attempt to slide into a designated landing zone painted on the berth. The contestants that land closest to the landing zone win.

Contestants support one another while leaning out over each side of a high profile boat. Both contestants will be standing on narrow beams with one contestant supporting the other as they reach out to release flags. This will be done on a high profile boat in the ocean so the contestants will have to deal with the bobbing ship, wind and other factors. Whoever releases the most flags the fastest will win. Each contestant will be lying in a vertical position and rotated head over feet. They will have a Plexiglas helmet on their head with an opening at the front that allows objects to be placed inside. Below each contestant will be a tub filled with scorpions (with the stingers removed). As the contestant is rotated around they must grab scorpions from the tub with their hands and then place them into their helmet. The pair of contestants that have the least amount of scorpions in their helmet at the end of a pre-determined time will be eliminated. Each contestant will be in a car and on go will back off the flatbed trucks and then drive out to their respective shoulder on the right or the left. They will then have to crash through 3 sets of obstacles on each side, consisting of a set of 3 barricades, another set of three Barricades , and finally a set of. 3 Barrels. They then cross back onto the road and try to drive up onto the opposite truck they came off of. In addition to the obstacles their will also be 3 traffic cars that they must manuvere around.

The parent must make their way across the ledge of the Universal Orlando entrance arch while their child stands on their shoulders. The child must then retrieve flags as the parent holding them maintains balance and makes their way over obstacles placed on the ledge. Whichever child/parent releases the most flags before falling will win. Each member of the mother son team must dunk their heads into dirty sinks filled with hair and gross sludge in order to retrieve keys with their mouths from the sinks clogged drains. The contestants must use the keys to unlock a cupboard filled with large tree snakes and tin cans. Reaching past a plexi barrier while maneuvering around the snakes the contestants must then grab additional keys from the top of the cupboard and unlock the tin cans fastened to the bottom. Once the cans have been retrieved the contestants will use a can opener to open the cans revealing nests of scorpions inside. After dumping the scorpions into a mixing bowl they will transfer them with their mouths onto a scale. When a pre-determined weight is on the scale two straws will rise out of the counter top, which will be used to transfer rotten milk taken from the refrigerator into an empty bottle. The stunt is complete when all the rotten milk has been transferred. The team that takes the greatest amount of time to complete the stunt will be eliminated. Contestants are each seated in a car and must drive the car and lock it into position underneath a moving semi-truck. Once the car is locked into position the contestants must then exit the car via the sunroof and climb into the bed of the trailer through a manhole in the bottom. Once in the trailer they will then open up the back door and make their way to the driver's side of the trailer, traversing it from back to front, both placing flags they retrieved in the trailer. Whichever couple completes this stunt the fastest wins.

Five contestants will be seated in derby cars while their partners balance on top of 30-foot poles. On go the contestants in the cars will race around a slick track trying to gain entrance into a maze filled with twisted car wreckage. The goal once in the maze is to knock your opponents partner off their pole. Whichever team's partner is the last one standing on a pole will win. When a pole gets knocked over the partner on the pole will be connected to a reverse bungee and go flying up and backwards. The contestants will maneuver a swamp boat using a gondolier's staff through a swamp obstacle course. At the first obstacle one of the contestants must jump out of the boat and climb through a pit of mud (simulated quick sand) to recover a flashlight that they must then take back to the boat. The contestants will travel in the boat to the second obstacle, where the second partner must make their way through a tube, using the flashlight for light, and retrieve a key off the back of an alligator. The contestants must then travel in the boat to the third obstacle where one contestant must lower the other into a 12-foot deep well partially filled at the bottom with gross fluids and find a skull hidden at the bottom. The contestant, with their partners help, must then climb out of the well on the rope and place the skull is a designated spot for time. The couple that takes the greatest amount of time to complete the stunt will be eliminated.

Contestants will both start on a SeaDoo as they speed towards a buoy, jump off at the buoy, grab a floating fire extinguisher, and swim to a platform behind a house boat that is on fire. After using the fire extinguisher to put out the flames, contestants will then make their way into the smoking cabin of the house boat by kicking down the door. Once inside they must locate a dummy to rescue. Once they've found it, they will break through back door of the cabin and take the dummy to the roof, where a hovering helicopter awaits. Contestants - along with the dummy - will climb into the helicopter and it will take them to a landing zone, where they will drop into the water and swim to a raft, placing the dummy in the raft and towing it to shore, then placing it in a stokes basket and running up the shore with the dummy to load it into an ambulance. One contestant will be placed in an airtight Plexiglas box filled with thousands of bugs and insects. The box will then be lowered into a pool of water and secured below the surface. On go, the partner must rescue the contestant locked in the box by swimming underwater and undoing a threaded bolt holding the box to the bottom. Once the box has been released the partner must bring it to the surface and out of the water where they must bob their head into a trough filled with the same type of bugs in the Plexiglas box and retrieve 3 keys. The keys will unlock the box and allow their partner to escape. The couple that takes the greatest amount of time to complete the stunt will be eliminated.

Both contestants are trapped in cars that are each suspended by cranes opposing each other. On go they must chew through their restraints and then one must climb out and go to the rear of his car where he must open a box containing bean bags. Once his partner has freed herself they must toss and catch as many bean bags as they can in a 2-minute span, with the "catcher" clipping the bean bags to her harness. After two minutes, both cars will fall out from under the contestants feet and slam into each other. The contestants will both be left dangling in the air as explosions go off and the cars then drop to the ground. The female contestant will be locked to a conveyer belt that will be lowered into a shaft filled with hundreds of webs crawling with thousands of tarantulas. On go the male contestant must work a crank to lower his partner down into the spider infested shaft to three separate key stations where she will retrieve a key with her mouth while having crickets and additional tarantulas dumped onto her head. After the female contestant reaches each of the three key stations and retrieves the key she must signal her partner who must then enter a plexiglass tank filled with ice and water to retrieve a tin can containing another key. He must use that key to unlock a piece on the conveyor that will enable him to continue turning the crank and moving his partner down the shaft to the next station.

One contestant will launch herself from a pneumatic chair off of a barge into the water. She will swim to a rave deck to retrieve a flag and clip it to herself, then swim to a waiting jet ski. Once the jet ski takes off a helicopter will approach overhead with her partner hanging underneath it by his ankles. He will pluck her off of the moving jet ski and hold onto her as they turn around and head back to the rave deck, letting go of her when she's close to the platform (the longer it takes for the helicopter transfer the further the jetski and heli move away from the rave deck). Once dropped into the water she must swim to it and place the flag to stop the clock. The teams that complete this stunt the fastest will win. Each couple will be placed together in a Plexiglas box with separated sections: one section for their heads and one for their bodies. The section for their bodies will be filled with small alligators and the section for their heads will be filled with bullfrogs. The contestants must pass a TBD object mouth to mouth through the frogs and then drop the object with their mouths down a tube into the bottom portion of the tank. The contestants must then catch the object they have dropped through the tank and place it in a designated spot. One contestant will drop from a helicopter and swim over to a buoy with a key on it. They must retrieve the key and then send it up a line to their partner who is waiting on the pier. Once the partner on the pier has retrieved the key they will hop on a four-wheel quad and launch it off the pier. As the quad plummets to the water below the contestant will fly away on the end of a line that is attached to a helicopter. Time will stop when the quad hits the water. Whichever couple completes this stunt the fastest wins.

Contestants will both be hanging by their ankles from a crane above the water at Falls Lake. On go the contestants will repeatedly be dunked in and out of the water from a height of 15-20 feet. They will each be wearing a jerk vest with 12 flags attached to it by dog clips. The game will end once all the flags have been detached from both the contestants. Each couple must sit inside a large metal barrel in a kneeling position where they will compete against opposing couples in an endurance challenge. While in the barrel the couple will face a series of mental and physical challenges designed to draw them out of their barrel (heat, cold, insects, bugs, steam, low-voltage electrical shocks, horrible smells and water). In order to draw the head to head competition to a close the contestants will face a final challenge where they will have to hold shut a series of weighted valves in order to keep their barrel from flooding with water. Once the couple can no longer hold the valve and their barrel fills with water they will be eliminated. The couple that can prevent their barrel from filling with water the longest will be awarded a prize. Contestants are driving on a swervy course while trying to run through a series of water barrels and phone-booth-sized wooden structures. At the end of the run they must turn a corner onto a ramp and drive thru a small shack as a device is activated that will flip the car end over end down the ramp. Whoever knocks down the most structures the fastest wins.

One contestant will be dropped into the water with 100 lbs of weight dangling from her, an air-hose device hooked up to her so she can breath for the first 30 seconds of the game. The weights will be hanging from eight specific points (each wrist, each ankle, waist and shoulders). On go the weighted contestant will be dropped by a winch into the water and her partner must dive in and start releasing weights from her. At the 30-second mark, Joe will shut off a valve that closes the air-hose device down, forcing the contestant to hold her breath. Once all of the weights have been removed they both must swim to a buoy to stop the clock. If she quits she'll be yanked out of the water by the winch. We can count how many weight lines were removed before quitting. Couples will be seated around a picnic table where they will be presented with a picnic baskets. Inside the baskets is a Fear Factor style meal (maggoty sandwich, 100-year-old deviled egg & fly shake). If the couple can eat their portion of the picnic they will earn an arrow. The couple that does the best in archery will win a prize. The couple whose arrow lands furthest away from the bulls-eye will be eliminated. One contestant will be underneath the train at the back of a car - tied to a line that she will be pulling herself along - while her partner will be on the side of the same car holding onto a ladder. On go, the train will make its way down the tracks as the contestant underneath pulls herself along the line towards her partner, grabbing as many as 10 flags that are hanging from the bottom of the train car along the way. Once she collects her flags she will transfer them to her partner on the side of the train car. Her partner must climb to the top of the car and jump to the car in front of it, then the one in front of that, placing each flag at different poles for time.

Both contestants are harnessed and locked into a computer ratchet system, 150 feet away from each other on opposite ends of a barn. On go Joe will take an axe and cut one contestant's line, sending him sailing high and far towards a mud pit on his partner's side of the barn. He will land in the pit, free himself from the line, and sift through the mud for a case that contains a hacksaw. Once found, he will use the hacksaw to cut a line that will send his partner sailing equal distance high and far back over the barn and into a second mud pit. She will free herself and sift through the mud to find a flag. Once found she will run it over to a pole and place it for time. Couples will be chained together and make their way through a series of junkyard obstacles, retrieving hubcaps, while being chased by attack dogs. In the first obstacle the couple must retrieve a hubcap from inside an abandoned school bus. In the second obstacle the couple must retrieve a hubcap from within a series of junked cars. In the third obstacle the couple must retrieve a hubcap from within a maze of tires. In this head-to-head stunt The two male contestants will be standing on top of a bus that is hanging horizontally approx 40' above the ground while their female partners are strapped under the bus. On go, the guys will make their way down to their respective bumpers to pull a release that will drop and swing the ladies. The men must then untie a line that will lower the ladies to the ground. Once their partner is on the ground the guys will then repel (or cable ladder) down to their partners. Once on the ground, both partners must unhook each others safety lines and run from under the bus. (the team that unhooks first will have won the first stage of the game and be given a head-start for the second stage).

Both contestants are strapped to a wratchet line - similar to a reverse bungee - on the deck of the USS Hornet, with their bungees attached to a helicopter. Hanging below the helicopter is a cargo net. On go each contestant releases himself, flinging him towards the cargo net. Once on the net contestants must pluck as many flags as they can and then let go to stop the clock. Using dull knives contestants will cut their way through two separate ropes, causing a cargo net containing three military style boxes to lower to the ground. Working together, the contestants will then untie a knot at the top of the netting in order to reach the first box which they will then open revealing hundreds of snakes guarding a hack saw and crow bar (fastened to the bottom of the box by a series of bolts). They must retrieve the items from the box and then each must use either the hack saw or crow bar to open the two remaining boxes. A canteen filled with rotten swamp water (fish sauce & water based) and leeches will be found in one box and a canned Fear Factor food ration consisting of gelatin packed worms, maggots and eyeballs in the other. The contestants will eat/drink the contents of their respective boxes. The contestants that take the longest combined time to eat their items will be eliminated. Contestants are connected to a helicopter and must repel down a line to the USS Hornet deck (still connected to helicopter when on the deck). They must then run and climb up the back of a large military vehicle which is headed towards the edge of the deck. Once on top of the military vehicle they must collect as many flags as they can before the vehicle goes over the edge and they fly away dangling from the helicopter.
