Saizo, a samurai, saves the life of the priestess of Izumo, Isanami; he escorts her to Ueda Castle.

During preparations for the harvest festival, there's a rumor of an uwabami; Saizo goes to kill it.

Saizo and his group are ambushed; the thief tortures Isanami to bring out the killer within Saizo.

Isanami helps the group find a path to a cavern; they are ambushed and an unexpected wind aids them.

After Isanami is kidnapped, Saizo loses the will to fight; Isanami loses her resolve.

Yukimura invites his warriors to his hot spring; Saizo gets into a fight with a monk named Seikai.

All lords are called to a tea ceremony at the palace; Yukimura goes with Rokuro, Saizo and Isanami.

Yukimura is to be executed if he does not surrender; a powerful new warrior comes to aid him.
