Shortly after a jewelry shop robbery is reported, Senior Inspector of the Special Duties Unit CHIN HON-TO is summoned to the scene to lead the arrest-cum-rescue operation. TO and his teammates break into the jewelry shop, and are shocked to discover that the interior design is in no way consistent with the floor plan.

TO has arranged a hostage rescue training session for his team, in which LAI is asked to play the role of the hostage, making the lad very unhappy and resentful. WAH and BUN have received intelligence that two notorious mainlanders are going to smuggle into Hong Kong to stage an armed robbery.

SUM is about to flee with YEUNG and CHEUNG, but knowing that his son CHUN PAU is suffering a medical emergency all of a sudden, he insists on paying the child a visit first. SUM, YEUNG and CHEUNG have managed to sneak into the hospital, while WAH has also sent a squad of police to the site and successfully evacuated the premises.

Knowing that the kidnappers have asked for a ransom of a hundred million dollars, LAI decides to call the police, but is stopped by his mother and sister. LAI turns to HIN for help, hoping that the two of them can trace the whereabouts of TONG when YAN is delivering the ransom to the kidnappers.

Members of the Special Duties Unit have accidentally damaged Granny CHEUNG's vegetable field during an outreach training session. Granny CHEUNG needs the team to compensate for her loss, in response to which HIN has left his contact number. WAI comes to YUEN's place saying that she has nowhere to go.

SDU member YIU-CHO introduces kung-fu fanatic CHAN LIK-HANG to TO, without knowing that the guys have actually known each other for years. HANG is going to fight a duel with TO, but is soon distracted when he hears that his father CHAN HING is involved in an argument with gang leader BING KUI at the fruit market.

Despite being a member of the Support Team, KEUNG has been trying to develop and improve her physical fitness as best as she can, hoping that she can join the Special Duties Unit one day. Not wanting her son SIU-CHUNG to be led astray, HA goes to see CHIU at the pub asking for a job opportunity for the lad.

The police receive intelligence that an abduction ring is plotting to kidnap the participants of an investment study tour tailor-made for the rich second generation from all around the world, in response to which TO decides to have LAI and KAI-KWONG infiltrated into the study tour to facilitate protection and investigation.

YUEN and TO try to trick WAH into receiving psychological treatment, but in vain. In a reunion gathering, WAH runs into an old schoolmate KARY, who is now a registered clinical psychologist. WAH pays KARY a visit at her clinic, where she manages to have her first round of treatment.

FAI and his wife are going to have a second child. For this reason, he has decided to transfer to another division from SDU. Thinking that FAI’s successor KIM-FEI may have difficulty in coping with his new role as a deputy supervisor, TO asks FAI to stay in SDU for one more month. FAI is seriously injured by a grenade in the arrest of the kidnappers of the Canadian business tycoon NIP KAI-PUI.

WAH and her team search the hideout of an illegal gambling ring, during which a man suddenly falls down dead from the roof. WAH finds the incident very suspicious. Accompanied by LAI, KEUNG returns to her home village to collect rent, where she runs into her childhood mate TANG FOOK-CHAI, who has been longing to become a policeman since a kid.

TO and WAH go fishing together, making others believe that they will become an item sooner or later. WAH has been notified that a large number of hostages are being held by three armed robbers in a bank. The SDU members manage to subdue the robbers, but are shocked to discover a bomb being tied to a female bank officer.

TO is still a bit hesitant about expressing his love for WAH. With the encouragement of LIN and YUEN, TO finally plucks up the courage to invite WAH to dinner at home, by which time he will seek to test her out. The notorious robber YUE is sent to hospital after a serious fight with the prisoners. With the help of his wife MEI-LING, YUE finally manages to escape from the hospital.
