Today the careful work of international teams is bringing a small herd of genetically bred, modern Tarpan to the remote mountains of eastern Europe. Here the horse faces a whole new challenge, struggling to become wild again.

The Horses of the Last Forbidden Kingdom - Journey to the top of the world and be drawn into a land beyond time and the medieval culture of the Mustang in Nepal. This is the Shangri La of horsedom, where wealth is measured in hoofed gold and the quality of a man and his history is reflected in the honor he shows to his herd. The film features the daring riders of this high Himalayan region - a culture vanishing before our eyes.
