KA-YEUNG's father POON WING-NIN is the boss of Wing Tai Lung Silk Factory. Because his elder son KA-HIN is not vigilant enough in dealing things, the responsibility of being the in-charge falls on his second child and elder daughter HAU-YEE. As Lui Cho Birthday is around the corner, WING-NIN knows that Wing Tai Lung cannot afford even the smallest mistake in holding the celebration ceremony. When checking the offering, HAU-YEE notices there are knots in the sky silk so she holds worker YIN-FOON accountable for it. Although supervisor SIN PIK-WAN suggests producing new sky silk overnight to make up, HAU-YEE asks another worker TONG BING-BING to be in charge of it. BING-BING thinks that HAU-YEE is purposely against PIK-WAN, so HAU-YEE reveals the reason to her. On the day of Lui Cho Birthday, the fourth child of the POON family, POON KA-SING is too lazy to get up early. In view of this, WING-NIN scolds him, saying that he overindulges in Cantonese Operas, and is good-for-nothing, Wing Tai Lung's second boss, POON WING-CHEUNG, rushes back to his hometown in time for the celebration. WING-NIN's wife CHAN YUEN-KAM misses her third child and second son KA-YEUNG so much that she asks WING-CHEUNG for the information about KA-YEUNG. At the ceremony, YUEN-KAM feels unwell so HAU-YEE dots the silk dragon's eye on behalf of her mother, which makes KA-HIN's wife YEUNG YIM-TO very jealous. After the silk dragon dance performed by the worker girls, the section of grabbing firecracker begins and all five big silk merchants go head-to-head to fight for it. Due to KA-YEUNG's sudden appearance, Wing Tai Lung is able to turn the tide before its defeat and successfully snatches away the firecracker.
S01:E02 - Episode 2
In the still of the night, KA-HIN goes to look for HAU-YEE as she fails to meet the appointment with a client on time. However, in a cottage, BING-BING discovers HAU-YEE's dead body holding in her hand tightly the divorce letter written by her run-away husband PO-CHING. It turns out that KA-HIN located PO-CHING in Guangzhou early and accused him of embezzling the company money. PO-CHING not only refused to return home, but also handed him the divorce letter. KA-HIN makes it clear that he never thought of that HAU-YEE would commit suicide by swallowing opium, whereas KA-YEUNG says that he had exchanged letters with HAU-YEE, who didn't mention her marriage problems at all. HUNG CHOR-KAU, a handyman of Wing Tai Lung, who doesn't believe that HAU-YEE committed suicide questions TONG TSIN-KAN about that, so WING-CHEUNG gives TSIN-KAN, BING-BING and her brother, and CHOR-KAU some money, telling them to give a witness statement to the others that HAU-YEE died of a sudden illness. WING-CHEUNG also gives a hint to KWOK-LEUNG, claiming that it's a good timing for them to take over the reins as the silk factory has a tumultuous time following the sudden death of HAU-YEE. Bursting into tears in front of his husband KA-HIN, YIM-TO indicates that WING-CHEUNG casts a covetous eye on the position in-charge, telling her husband to also seize the opportunity. On the other hand, KA-YEUNG gets suspicious of HAU-YEE's death.
S01:E03 - Episode 3
After telling KA-YEUNG that the late HAU-YEE mentioned of her husband's misconducts, BING-BING intends to report it to the police, but is stopped by KA-YEUNG as anyone near HAU-YEE might be the suspect. KA-YEUNG then learns from CHOR-KAU that CHENG CHEONG once cursed HAU-YEE in front of her as they were business rivalries, and silk farms often had price disputes with HAU-YEE. Moreover, PIK-WAN constantly argued with HAU-YEE. On top of that, CHOR-KAU even points out that both WING-CHEUNG and KWOK-LEUNG are very malevolent. Having found out that PIK-WAN meets up with CHENG CHEONG, BING-BING suspects that CHENG CHEONG has bribed PIK-WAN. Out of the blue, PO-CHING appears at HAU-YEE's funeral, revealing that HAU-YEE used dirty tactics to do business. BING-BING alleges PO-CHING is the murder suspect as he had already returned to POON's Village the night HAU-YEE died. So KA-YEUNG tries to sound PO-CHING out, and also carries out a body check-up for him. BING-BING takes out a dose of Chinese medicine which is used to cure angina, and she claims that it has the same scent as those she smelled from PO-CHING. Having smelled all the medicinal herbs from the dose, KA-YEUNG instructs BING-BING to buy all the perilla leaves from the pharmaceutical stores nearby. However, he doesn't disclose his reason...
S01:E04 - Episode 4
BING-BING accuses PO-CHING of murder, but PO-CHING denies it and frankly discloses where he was the night HAU-YEE died, during which KA-YEUNG also shows up to clear his name. WING-CHEUNG intends to dismiss BING-BING for allegedly spreading rumors to create trouble, but KA-HIN pleas for leniency for her. KA-YEUNG secretly releases PO-CHING, who reveals to him that HAU-YEE must have received assistance from someone who is very familiar with the management of the silk factory. BING-BING discovers there is something wrong with the sky cocoon. However, before she can report it, she is instead alleged to have made profit from selling the valuable sky cocoon. KWOK-LEUNG considers expelling BING-BING, who suspects that someone must have imputed the blame to her. WING-CHEUNG suggests that WING-NIN should cultivate KA-HIN to be the in- charge, yet, in fact, he just wants to provoke WING-NIN to express his dissatisfaction with KA-HIN. Having learned that KA-YEUNG let PO-CHING go, KA-HIN also starts having a suspicious feeling that HAU-YEE's death was not merely a suicide. With KA-YEUNG's persuasion, WING-NIN finally agrees to let KA-HIN try to run the business. KA-HIN requests all the girls to work overtime, trying to get the work done early. Concerning that the silk quality might be inevitably compromised if the workers don't have enough rest time, PIK-WAN refuses to cooperate with him...
S01:E05 - Episode 5
PIK-WAN's elder brother Thuggish SHING and other silk farmers request a rise in price, and PIK-WAN attempts to stop them but in vain. KA-HIN feels annoyed as there is a lack of cocoons. WING-CHEUNG believes there must be an inside source who informs SHING to ask for a pay raise, so KWOK-LEUNG highly suspects that PIK-WAN is the one. After learning that KA-HIN wants to push the stage four worms to make cocoons early, PIK-WAN suggests a workable proposal. With SIU-KWAN and other silk farmers being attacked, SHING thinks that the attack is initiated by Wing Tai Lung. Later on, CHOR-KAU finds out that all the stage four worms are dead. Thinking the worms died from gas poisoning, KA-YEUNG suspects it's the deed done by PIK-WAN. Apart from alleging in front of WIN-NIN that KA-HIN has made the matter worse, WING-CHEUNG and KWOK-LEUNG also claim that they have ways to buy new cocoons so as to show off their good connection in the industry as well as their ability. The silk farmers notice that the moths are going to fly out of the cocoons, so they intend to argue with SHING, worrying that the cocoons are no more suitable for making silk. However, SHING and his wife try to run away. Being stormed with PIK-WAN's questions, SHING reveals the truth to her...... KA-HIN manages to deliver the goods on time, solving Wing Tai Lung's crisis. As such, WING-NIN is impressed by him...
S01:E06 - Episode 6
With KA-YEUNG being his adviser, KA-HIN arranges the silk farmers to continue to cooperate with Wing Tai Lung, successfully easing the tension between them. KA-YEUNG even deduces the instigator of the riot was HAU-YEE's murderer. BING-BING sees a Lingzhi mushroom so she picks it for SIU-KWAN as it's good for her health. At that moment, she reveals her past love story to KA-YEUNG, including how she met her husband KWAN CHO-YIU. CHENG CHEONG instigates WING-CHEUNG to be the person in-charge of Wing Tai Lung, whereas WING-CHEUNG considers it very difficult as KA-YEUNG will assist KA-HIN. Suddenly, Wing Tai Lung receives a very big order, which is to produce forty bolts of silk cloth within half a month, so KA-HIN asks PIK-WAN and the girls to work overtime to meet the target. PIK-WAN then recalls her bygones when she and KA-HIN were lovers, and how she later became a single girl. In an attempt to ferret out the culprit, KA-YEUNG once again leaves home. Although WING-NIN hopes KA-YEUNG to be the one in-charge, KA-YEUNG suggests taking up the duty together with KA-HIN. Trying to win BING-BING over, YIM-TO arranges her to handle the recruitment process. A girl called FUNG CHI-CHING is allegedly in debt, and her debtor CHIU threatens to sell her to a brothel. In view of this, BING-BING helps her pay off the debt and even decides to keep her in KWAN's home.

BING-BING advises CHI-CHING to apply for a job in Wing Tai Lung, unfortunately, CHI-CHING is unable to get through the last section of the recruitment process. Although PIK-WAN eliminates CHI-CHING in the last section, YIM-TO lets CHI-CHING stay. YIM-TO attempts to win BING-BING over, making KA-HIN feel pretty embarrassed. On his discovery of an unknown key in HAU-YEE's room, KA-YEUNG asks maid CHUK about it. Tracking down the truth by following the clues, KA-YEUNG learns that HAU-YEE went to Fat Wah Nunnery one month ahead of her death, so he launches an investigation together with BING-BING. With BING-BING and PIK-WAN training the newly recruited workers, BING-BING intends to let PIK-WAN teach CHI-CHING, during which YIN-FOON keeps yelling at CHI-CHING to flaunt her power. However, CHI-CHING seems to be up to something. When she asks LAI-KUEN and the others about where she can borrow money from, BING-BING exhorts her not to borrow money from loan sharks. KA-YEUNG asks BING-BING whether she noticed any particular behavior of HAU-YEE before the night she died. BING-BING recalls that, on one occasion when HAU-YEE felt unwell, she attempted to check her pulse, but was prevented by HAU-YEE. While investigating in the Fat Wah Nunnery, KA-YEUNG and BING-BING spot a small cottage in front of HAU-YEE's reading room, suspecting there is something else hidden beneath the surface...
S01:E08 - Episode 8
KA-YEUNG surmises the cottage was the place where HAU-YEE was secretly dating her lover, asserting her lover killed HAU-YEE to prevent divulgence of his secrets, but BING-BING finds it hard to believe. After questioning one by one those male workers who are responsible to handle the dyeing section and also were absent from work, KA-YEUNG finds out that many of them are lying, unfortunately, he still lacks evidence. On the other hand, CHI-CHING bursts into tears in front of CHOR-KAU, saying that a famine occurs in her hometown and her aunt's family is in trouble. As a result, CHOR-KAU lends her his hard-earned money. Suddenly, CHI-CHING sees regional bully CHIU walking around with her portrait to ask about her, so she immediately goes into hiding. When TSIN-KAN sneaks out of the dormitory in search of his lost belongings, KA-YEUNG shows up without warning and implies that TSIN-KAN looks very dubious...... With BING-BING catching a cold, TONG WING is worried about her very much. Although he says that he heard someone gossiping about BING-BING, TONG WING makes it clear that BING-BING can always find herself a new husband as his daughter BING-BING hasn't actually married CHO-YIU yet. In TSIN-KAN's room, BING-BING notices HAU-YEE's handkerchief, so she suspects TSIN-KAN is somewhat related with HAU-YEE's death. TSIN-KAN attempts to burn down the cottage where HAU-YEE stayed during her pregnancy, during which he and KA-YEUNG are struggling together, causing a fire in the house. TSIN-KAN then locks himself inside the house so as to die for his love HAU-YEE.
S01:E09 - Episode 9
After being rescued from fire by KA-YEUNG, TSIN-KAN reflects on the past when HAU-YEE got pregnant and tried to avoid miscarriage before her death, showing his deepest love for HAU-YEE. CHIU goes to the silk factory, demanding them to return his wife "WONG NGA-CHI" to him. Having caught a glimpse of CHIU, CHI-CHING immediately runs away, raising a colossal uproar in town. KA-HIN requests CHI-CHING to leave the silk factory, whereas BING-BING and PIK-WAN plead with KA-HIN for her. CHI-CHING worries that she would inevitably be married off to the villain, so all the girls in the factory offer a variety of solutions, among which CHI-CHING thinks staying single is the best way to solve the problem. When BING-BING advises CHI-CHING to have a second thought, PIK-WAN thinks BING-BING despises the single girls. Seizing the opportunity when CHI-CHING goes out together with BING-BING, CHIU takes away CHI-CHING by force. CHOR-KAU tries to thwart CHIU, but is hit and injured instead. Fortunately, KA-YEUNG appears and defeats CHIU. WING-NIN blames KA-HIN for letting his wife hire the worker girl with the dubious background that caused this trouble. Above that, he even restricts YIM-TO from intervening in the business of Wing Tai Lung anymore. BING-BING is very depressed after finding the pocket watch left behind by CHO-YIU has gone missing. Having learned the pocket watch actually belongs to BING-BING's husband, KA-YEUNG goes to search it together with BING-BING.
S01:E10 - Episode 10

KWOK-LEUNG indicates that KA-YEUNG inspects the silk factory on a daily basis and dispatches the herbal tea to the workers there, above which KA-YEUNG is very gracious and courteous to BING-BING. So WING-CHEUNG and KWOK-LEUNG come up with a plot, scheming to attack KA-YEUNG's reputation by spreading the rumor that he is having an affair. YIN-FOON spots KWOK-LEUNG acting dubiously in the office, but KWOK-LEUNG reveals his emotional side, successfully making YIN-FOON show a sentiment of pity and compassion for him. KA-YEUNG asks KWOK-LEUNG for the list of their clients, during which he sees KWOK-LEUNG acting very nervously so he cannot help thinking there must be a lot of untold secrets between WING-CHEUNG and KWOK-LEUNG. Apart from giving YIN-FOON a silk handkerchief made in France, KWOK-LEUNG also sweet-talks her, making her lose her mind and throw herself at him. Having heard that KA-YEUNG made herbal tea for BING-BING, KA-HIN reminds KA-YEUNG to beware of his behavior. When examining the account book, KA-YEUNG nearly has a quarrel with WING-CHEUNG. WING-CHEUNG advises that KA-YEUNG should start working from the ground up, so KA-YEUNG suggests that he would like to follow WING-CHEUNG to learn the business in the Silk and Satin Shop. In response to WING-NIN's queries on the gossips about KA-YEUNG from outside, YUEN-KAM indicates that someone must have been deliberately ruining KA-YEUNG's reputation, and her bluster is directed against KA-HIN and his wife...

YIM-TO refuses to obey, so the couple has a quarrel with each other. Getting himself so drunk, KA-HIN pours out his grief to PIK-WAN as he still feels very guilty for hurting her feeling ten years ago. WING-CHEUNG keeps questioning KA-HIN, whereas WING-NIN and the others also ask KA-HIN to tell them the truth. But KA-HIN obstinately denies murdering KWOK-LEUNG. Just as WING-CHEUNG is about to report to the police, PIK-WAN suddenly shows up, claiming herself is the murderer. KA-HIN doesn't want to implicate PIK-WAN, who is actually innocent, but PIK-WAN stops him from telling the truth. When BING-BING fetches some clothes for PIK-WAN, she, in PIK-WAN's closet, spots a stained glass charm bearing uncanny resemblance to the one she picked up in the mountain god temple. KA-YEUNG takes KA-SING to the cottage where HAU-YEE died, trying to stimulate him to recall more with regard to the case. WING-NIN believes that KA-YEUNG and KA-HIN must have concealed the cause of KWOK-LEUNG's death, asserting that KA-HIN must have been somewhat involved in KWOK-LEUNG's death. KA-YEUNG could not find KA-SING, so he goes to the cottage in search of his younger brother. Having seen this, KA-HIN tails him in secret. At last, KA-YEUNG rescues KA-SING, who drown in water, and give him first-aid treatment. Later on, he arranges KA-SING to stay temporarily in an inn so as not to startle their family members...
