PC Rowan is on loan to the CID to investigate gangster Frank Armstrong, but Katie's christening and a visit from an old Met colleague, Jill Criddle, have him distracted.

A burglar gets more than he bargained for when one of his victims has a heart attack and dies, putting him square in the crosshairs of the dead man's widow.

Hired to dig up a plot of land for Ventress and his wife, Greengrass and Stockwell discover a 500kg explosive from WWII, putting the whole town in danger and forcing Rowan to organize an evacuation.
