Brother's Keeper

While working as an illegal worker, YUK-MUI gets to know Mrs KWOK and Mrs KWOK invites her to work at her place. YUK-MUI's husband LAW FU-SHING comes to Macau to look for her. FU-SHING is not satisfied with his work and he decides to sell peanut candies there. MAN-YING's father YIU HANG operates Long Fok Hotel in Macau but he doesn't like his daughter at all. MAN-YING has to study and do cleaning works at the hotel at the same time. The Macau government is issuing residence permit to illegal immigrants. WAI-SHUN believes that he could study in the school but FU-SHING forces him to quit schooling. In order to continue his studies, TIN-SENG lives frugally. He works in the daytime and attends evening school at night. In 1991, TIN-SENG has become a CID sergeant. Inspired by Mrs KWOK's daughter HOI-LAM, WAI-SHUN starts selling on the street at Ruins of St Paul's secretly. When he passes by Kwai Hing Lung Bakery, he discovers that the staffs are distributing free candies for son of the owner, LUNG FEI, has returned from abroad after finishing his studies. WAI-SHUN takes a bag of candies and he decides to improve his father's peanut candies after tasting those free candies...
