In his dream, MA KWAI vaguely sees a muddy man. After that, he notices there is some mud on his face. Despite the extensive news coverage of his story, MA KWAI seems to be very unhappy. MA KWAI’s $100,000 that he planned to give to his mother is taken by the police as evidence, so he can’t buy the Dzi bead anymore. The police officer who was patrolling together with CHIN-MING during the gunfire exchange is fatally injured. Later, CHIN-MING tells his younger sister PUI-LING that he was killed in the line of duty. After the police take the statement from CHIN-MING, they find it too inconceivable. While CHIN-MING is so gloomy at the hospital, he runs into his old neighbor TSZ-YEUK, and the two even make an appointment to have lunch together. Seeing the paranormal phenomena from her TV, CHING-CHING becomes so scared that she goes to YAU-WAI’s home and asks for help. Meanwhile, MA KWAI tries every possible way to finally get the opportunity to drive TSZ-YEUK home. TSZ-YEUK even asks him for his mobile phone so as to directly call him for a taxi. S01:E01 - Episode 1
Taxi driver LUK KA-YAT has a strange encounter at midnight after giving a ride to a woman in red, so his taxi driver friend MA KWAI starts telling other fellow cab drivers as to what happened. Among them, WONG SIU-DAN, who is armed with all sorts of spells, charms and malas, warns KA-YAT that his taxi is haunted. Instantly, MA KWAI and his non-blood related uncle MOK YAU-WAI stop SIU-DAN from continuing because they do not believe in ghosts. MA KWAI learns that his crush, female doctor CHONG TSZ-YEUK, calls a taxi, so he rushes there only to run into all sorts of obstacles along the way. Just as he is about to urinate, he receives a call from a customer. The senior arrives yet soon disappears, leaving MA KWAI no other choice but to go into the bushes to urinate in a hurry. After he returns home, his mother LEUNG CHING-CHING, a devoted Buddhist, mentions that she wants to buy a Dzi bead worth $100,000 so as to keep her home and family safe, to which MA KWAI refuses. Following the ensuing dispute, MA KWAI goes upstairs to MOK YAU-WAI’s home to complain about this. There is a burst of gunfire at Hung Hom, so all the cab drives spread the message warning the others not to go there. Out of the blue, MA KWAI’s mobile phone breaks. S01:E03 - Episode 3
A mysterious creature appears in front of MA KWAI, and soon turns into a humanoid form after shaking the mud off its body. The creature explains to MA KWAI that as an incarnation of heavenly virtues, he is a genie of the rock who has been sleeping for three hundred years and is now coincidentally woken by MA KWAI, adding that his name is SHEK KAM-DONG. Not wanting KAM-DONG to follow him, MA KWAI starts speaking to him in an abusive way. However, KAM-DONG frankly tells MA KWAI that he is going to grant him a wish to repay a debt of gratitude. When CHIN-MING is on patrol, a concerned citizen complains to him that there is an unpleasant smell coming from KA-YAT’s taxi with a sight of blood. After he returns to the police station, PUI-LING reveals that she was told by the police that her elder brother’s death stemmed from the negligence on duty, and she begs CHIN-MING to help her probe into the matter. As usual, MA KWAI drives TSZ-YEUK back home after she gets off work. Driving by the seashore near Sai Wan, TEUK out of the blue starts telling him about things happened between her and her boyfriend. YAU-WAI helps CHING-CHING cleanup so as to prevent rodents, during which he discovers a box containing some children’s stuff.
S01:E04 - Episode 4
MA KWAI eventually thinks of what kind of wish he wants to fulfill, so he tries to contact KAM-DONG, but to no avail. Due to the upcoming demolition of her old residence, TSZ-YEUK invites CHIN-MING to tour around the old neighborhood together with her. Feeling anguished by his experience, CHIN-MING reveals to her that there has been many falling from height incidents at the Shing Pak Building ever since she moved out. All the fellow cab drivers are gossiping about the haunted stories at the TV station. Seeing that MA KWAI also agrees with them, YAU-WAI can’t help feeling very disappointed and leaves. Finally, MA KWAI manages to locate the rock that KAM-DONG is attached to, and he even hears his calling for help. MASTER YAT-KI live broadcasts the program, Big Big World. In order to achieve the highest clickthrough rate, the producer even tells the host PUI PUI-NA to stand in a protective barrier filled with joss paper, spells, charms and other paper offerings. It’s widely spread among the fellow cab driverat there are paranormal phenomena around the electricity transmitter near the TV station. Having heard this, MA KWAI rushes there…
S01:E05 - Episode 5
MA KWAI carries the sacred rock back home and plans to hide it in his room, however, KAM-DONG is not satisfied because his room is as messy as a dumpster. Seeing MA KWAI act very weird, CHING-CHING comes up with an idea to divert MA KWAI’s attention away. MA KWAI later returns to his room only to find out that the sacred rock has gone missing. PUI-LING asks CHIN-MING whether there is any progress regarding her brother being accused of negligence, to which CHIN-MING eventually can’t hold on anymore and tells her that he also saw the red-eyed demon. KAM-DONG follows MA KWAI to work to not only avoid running into trouble but also to learn modern technology. When TSZ-YEUK gets off work, she confides in MA KWAI. Seeing TSZ-YEUK exude elegance, KAM-DONG encourages MA KWAI to confess his love to her, his dream girl. Seeing that MA KWAI is a very filial son, KAM-DONG can’t help feeling puzzled about the fact that CHING-CHING still treats MA KWAI badly, so MA KWAI reveals the reason behind this. As requested by llow cab driver MAN BIU, MA KWAI picks up two “young friends” for him, only to find out that they are gang members. S01:E06 - Episode 6
Though MA KWAI insists that he has nothing to do with the drugs, he is still detained by the police. CHIN-MING volunteers to talk to MA KWAI, seeking to find out more things about the red-eyed demon through him. MA KWAI reveals to YAU-WAI that he has been detained by the police, begging him not to disclose this to his mother, so YAU-WAI seeks aid from Uncle BIU but fails. Eventually, MA KWAI is released. However, upon his return, CHING-CHING instantly reprimands him for causing trouble. Feeling that he was wronged, MA KWAI loses his temper and runs away from home. While doing her rounds, TSZ-YEUK sees WING-SHING refusing to eat. TSZ-YEUK then buys some street snacks and visits WING-SHING, who reveals the reason why he is still alive is to see CHIN-MING. WING-SHING begs TSZ-YEUK to bring CHIN-MING there to visit him. In order to find the ghost of HO, MA KWAI leads KAM-DONG to the place where HO passed away. Due to the fact that KAM-DONG is unable to find HO’s ghost, he passes his Genie power to MA KWAI, helpg open his third eye.
S01:E07 - Episode 7
MA KWAI gets into trouble after offending LILY, the demonic doll; whereas KAM-DONG thinks that she was not that bad in nature, just her obsessiveness becomes so consuming that she engages in evildoing. After being defeated by KAM-DONG, LILY explains that the reason why she became the wandering ghost is because she was abandoned by her owner. KAM-DONG later discovers that LILY’s owner turns out to be PUI-NA. PUI-NA tenders her resignation to the producer, who not only tries to persuade her to stay, but also claims that he is going to recommend her to IVY from the news department. PUI-NA checks out all the gifts given by her fans, and LILY is among them. Unfortunately, PUI-NA does not recognize LILY at all. After learning that LILY is wreaking havoc at the TV station, KAM-DONG immediately goes to fight against her. On the other hand, MA KWAI hears a restaurant sells very delicious soufflé, so he goes together with TSZ-YEUK to try it. After that, TSZ-YEUK orders an extra one to take out, adding that this is hdying patient’s favorite food. MA KWAI sends TSZ-YEUK back to hospital. While there, they run into CHIN-MING, who feels very resentful after seeing MA KWA
S01:E08 - Episode 8
LILY wreaks havoc at the studio after seeing PUI-NA was wronged. Having seen this, MA KWAI takes out a lighter, threatening to burn down the doll that LILY is attached to. PUI-NA hears that MA KWAI keeps talking but nobody is there. After she spots the doll he is holding in his hand, she suddenly recalls LILY. MA KWAI notices his third eye is open, so he instantly goes to ask KAM-DONG about this, to which KAM-DONG has no clue at all. TSZ-YEUK goes around to take photos by using the camera that her late ex-boyfriend left, and even talks about his death. While CHIN-MING blames himself for not being able to accompany her, TSZ-YEUK discloses that she is lucky enough to have MA KWAI stay with her for these days. Having heard this, CHIN-MING suddenly becomes very quiet; whereas in fact, he can’t help feeling very jealous. CHING-CHING cleans up the sacred rock, making KAM-DONG feel so comfortable that he does not want to leave. In the end, he tells MA KWAI to go alone to look for HO’s ghost. S01:E09 - Episode 9
CHIN-MING brings along the seeds of Salvia Americana to PUI-LING’s art studio and plants them in a pot. While TSZ-YEUK tells CHIN-MING that she lost the camera that her ex-boyfriend left to her, she also leaves a message to MA KWAI, asking him whether he found the camera. Seeing that she confides in MA KWAI, CHIN-MING feels so jealous that he starts telling her about how MA KWAI was arrested on a drug possession charge, which according to him, proves that MA KWAI is not what he appears to be. Patrolling at night, CHIN-MING conducts a search on a drug addict, but finds nothing. However, after he out of the blue hears what the drug addict is thinking, he manages to arrest him on reasonable grounds. PUI-NA continues to hire MA KWAI to drive her around, asking him to share with her all sorts of paranormal and ghost stories. On one occasion, MA KWAI sees a senior sit on a wheelchair right in front of a hospital, yet neither nurses nor PUI-NA can see the patient. At that moment, MA KWAI comes to realize that the nior is a ghost. PUI-NA wants MA KWAI to reach that senior. Surprisingly, when MA KWAI tries to approach it, the ghost of WING-SHING suddenly starts wielding a blade, and accidentally injures PUI-NA in the ensuing chaos.
S01:E10 - Episode 10
A moving truck hits MA KWAI’s taxi and smashes it off the bridge, fortunately, KAM-DONG manages to get MA KWAI out of the car in the nick of time. However, the taxi is totaled. The red-eyed demon chasing after MA KWAI. In this exigent circumstance, MA KWAI throws a coin that has his own blood on it towards the demon, and surprisingly, it seems to ward it off. Following a spate of traffic accidents, MA KWAI begs all his fellow cab drivers not to let CHING-CHING know about these. Unfortunately, no one is willing to rent their cars to MA KWAI anymore. MA KWAI wants to find out who the red-eyed demon was that night, but KAM-DONG holds a different opinion. MA KWAI has not been able to reach TSZ-YEUK ever since she stood him up. KA-YAT tries to persuade him not to let this unrequited crush linger. When CHING-CHING gives someone a massage, she learns about the traffic accidents that MA KWAI had. Thinking she is destined to bring bad luck to her son, she decides to run away from home. Upon MA KWAI’s return home, WAI discloses to him that CHING-CHING is afraid that she is the one who causes harm to him. Therefore, MA KWAI reveals everything on his mind to YAU-WAI.
S01:E11 - Episode 11
KAM-DONG appears as the image of the late HO and stands in front of CHING-CHING, encouraging her to pull herself together. However, after MA KWAI learns about this, he claims what KAM-DONG did will only deepen her worry. As expected, CHING-CHING becomes so worried that she asks Uncle DAN to explain the dream for her. CHING-CHING once again runs away from home, so MA KWAI goes to look for her everywhere. CHING-CHING aimlessly walks on the street and almost gets hit by a car, fortunately, KAM-DONG shows up in the nick of time to save her. MA KWAI drives by KA-LIT’s noodle shop, and he agrees to help them find a showbiz celebrity to visit the shop as a publicity stunt. MA KWAI then leads PUI-NA there, only to find out that the shop has been abandoned for many years. Right away, MA KWAI calls KAM-DONG, who tells him that KA-LIT and LEI-FU are ghosts. PUI-NA researches the news reports that were published 30 years ago, through which she learns that there was a fire at the shop and the couple was killed in the fi, leaving behind a 4-year-old son.
S01:E12 - Episode 12
As usual, MA KWAI drives KA-LIT and LEI-FU back. Only this time, he notices that their conversation is the same as they had a month ago, finally realizing that they are repeating the same day. KAM-DONG uses the identity of HO to stay by CHING-CHING’s side. CHING-CHING leads him around to worship the gods, to which KAM-DONG feels very touched. YAU-WAI is afraid that CHING-CHING has gone insane because she misses her son so much, so he seizes the chance when CHING-CHING goes to work and throws away the sacred rock. CHING-CHING goes to look for the rock in the dumpsters, which makes KAM-DONG feel very important and touched. MA KAWI tries to take a different route to drive KA-LIT and LEI-FU home. Surprised that the world has changed so much, KA-LIT and LEI-FU get very confused and suddenly disappear after feeling a huge headache. When CHIN-MING drowns his sorrows in alcohol, PUI-LING tries to comfort him. Mistaking her for TSZ-YEUK, CHIN-MING kisses her
S01:E13 - Episode 13
MA KWAI hopes to help KA-LIT and LEI-FU avoid the suffering of reincarnation, but KAM-DONG refuses to help him while lecturing him not to disturb the ghosts because he will only end up harming more people including himself. Unfortunately, MA KWAI doesn’t listen to him and returns to the noodle shop again, which leaves KAM-DONG no other choice but to teach him how to save the couple. Despite several attempts, MA KWAI still ends up failing. Leading KAM-DONG to a sauna, MA KWAI notices that the reason why KAM-DONG is willing to stay is because he is reluctant to leave CHING-CHING, to which KAM-DONG frankly admits. At the hospital, TSZ-YEUK tries to instruct the medical personnel to treat the injured patients, yet no one responds to her. Apart from that, she finds it seems like no one at the hospital can see her, except a nurse called NAOMI, who soon disappears. YAU-WAI brings along some equipment to CHING-CHING’s home and checks around. KAM-DONG can’t help playing a prank on him. Though TSZ-YEUK sees CHIN-rrive at the hospital, yet he seems to ignore her.
S01:E14 - Episode 14
MA KWAI drives to pick up TSZ-YEUK after hearing her call, and then he runs into KA-YAT. Neither KA-YAT nor Uncle DAN can see there is a passenger in MA KWAI’s car. Having calmed down, TSZ-YEUK reveals everything to MA KWAI, who then seeks aid from KAM-DONG, helping the soul of TSZ-YEUK return to her body. YAU-WAI bites the bullet to borrow some equipment from Uncle DAN, seeking to summon a spirit, but to no avail. Seeing YAU-WAI constantly offend him, KAM-DONG goes to deal with him. While MA KWAI is at TSZ-YEUK’s home to look at her old photos, suddenly, the door opens and CHIN-MING bursts in. As soon as he sees MA KWAI there, he instantly has his guard up. Right in front of TSZ-YEUK, MA KWAI tries to test CHIN-MING to see whether he is the person of interest, so he reveals to CHIN-MING that he has supernatural powers. CHIN-MING returns to the art studio in an attempt to plant the seeds of Salvia Americana again so as to gain the demonic power, seeking to fend off MA KW
S01:E15 - Episode 15
After following NAOMI to the basement of the hospital, TSZ-YEUK comes to realize that her boyfriend is not there, and she is surrounded by ghosts. At that moment, NAOMI reveals its true intention, which is to gain control of TSZ-YEUK’s body to live again as a human. On top of that, NAOMI even traps TSZ-YEUK in a room guarded by some Japanese military officers. MA KWAI informs KAM-DONG that something happened to TSZ-YEUK at the hospital. KAM-DONG detects that TSZ-YEUK’s soul is in another dimension, where no human being can reach. MA KWAI then seeks aid from PUI-NA. PUI-NA receives a phone call from MA KWAI, telling her to go together with LILY to the hospital. Right away, PUI-NA ditches her new anchor job negotiation and rushes there to help him. MA KWAI plans to make his soul leave his body and then goes together with KAM-DONG to limbo to rescue TSZ-YEUK. To prevent TSZ-YEUK’s body from being stolen by ghosts, MA KWAI asks LILY to guard the body. Having heard this, PUI-NA also wants to guard MA KWAI’so KAM-DONG helps open her third eye.
S01:E16 - Episode 16
TSZ-YEUK eventually regains her consciousness after her soul returns to her own body. MA KWAI comes to visit her together with PUI-NA, telling her that it’s all because of PUI-NA’s help that he managed to escape from the limbo. However, TSZ-YEUK seems to have no idea what he was talking about. Upon their departure, MA KWAI wants to express his gratitude to PUI-NA by upgrading her to exclusive VIP customer, but PUI-NA reveals that she’d rather him owe her a favor for the rest of his life. KAM-DONG thinks highly of LILY and intends to take her in as his student, but is turned down by her instead. CHING-CHING blames HO for scaring YAU-WAI, telling him to make peace with YAU-WAI. Once again, MA KWAI runs into DODO SIR. Seeing that he believes in ghosts and paranormal phenomena, MA KWAI asks him to help investigate the traffic accident in which TSZ-YEUK was hit. Suddenly, CHIN-MING goes to visit TSZ-YEUK, anxiously grabbing her hands. Having seen this, MA KWAI instantly pushes him away. Soon afterwards, two officers show up to arrest CHIN-MING on the charge of dangerous driving. CHIN-MING begs TSZ-YEUK for forgiveness. Later, CHIN-MING is sentenced to 18 months imprisonment after the court receives a petition letter from the victim requesting leniency.
S01:E17 - Episode 17
TSZ-YEUK out of the blue goes to visit MA KWAI at home, and even returns the camera to him. KA WAI comes to realize that he and TSZ-YEUK can only maintain the relationship as driver and passenger. Seeing MA KWAI drown his sorrows in alcohol because of TSZ-YEUK, PUI-NA brings some books about the out-of-body experience to TSZ-YEUK for her to read. When CHING-CHING is not around, YAU-WAI exposes that KAM-DONG lied about being HO. YAU-WAI uses his equipment to detect that KAM-DONG’s energy level keeps dropping, so he asks him what happened. In view of the recent cases of cops being murdered and weird things happening around the funeral home, KAM-DONG has a hunch, believing it must have something to do with the demon. Therefore, he tells MA KWAI to go with him to subdue the demon. Seeing KAM-DONG’s genie power weakened, MA KWAI uses his bloody coins to save him. After that, they learn from some ghosts that the reason behind their evildoings is because they are afraid the demon is coming. The demon appears befCHIN-MING as the image of TSZ-YEUK, explaining to him why she was born.
S01:E18 - Episode 18
All the fellow cab drivers who work under Uncle BIU gather together to discuss how to help the family of TOTORO. MA KWAI spots KA-YAT sitting alone, and KA-YAT blames himself for causing trouble to TOTORO. Seeing that KA-YAT seems to be out of shape, MA KWAI takes him back home to temporarily stay there. KAM-DONG is convinced that the demon must have something to do with things happening recently. However, MA KWAI refuses to subdue the demon. DODO SIR tells MA KWAI that the cop killer seems to be under influence of a certain power, and he believes that MA KWAI can help him, to which MA KWAI still refuses. TSZ-YEUK goes to visit CHIN-MING in jail. After learning from PUI-LING that CHIN-MING is connected to the recent cases of cops being killed, TSZ-YEUK can’t help worrying that CHIN-MING might harm MA KWAI. To fulfill his duties, KAM-DONG decides to go alone to challenge the demon. He arrives at the prison and sees CHIN-MING, yet doesn’t see the demon. He then tries to persuade CHIN-MING not to be fooled be demon. Unfortunately, not only does CHIN-MING completely ignore him, but he also uses his demonic power to suppress his power.
S01:E19 - Episode 19
MA KWAI is informed that something happened to YAU-WAI, following which he goes to visit his mother at the hospital. While there, TSZ-YEUK tells him that CHING-CHING is fine. CHING-CHING hurries to get discharged from the hospital and returns home, only to find out that the sacred rock has gone missing, which makes her very nervous. For revenge, MA KWAI eventually begs KAM-DONG to teach him ways to subdue the demon, so KAM-DONG asks LILY to act as MA KWAI’s enemy, helping him. However, MA KWAI is so obsessed with revenge that he can’t calm himself down. Having seen this, PUI-NA leads him to the forest where they ran into LILY to view the glowing genies flying around. Upon her return home, TSZ-YEUK surprisingly sees CHIN-MING in her home. It turns out that he got an early release from prison. MA KWAI receives a video showing that TSZ-YEUK has been abducted, so he follows CHIN-MING’s instruction, trying to rescue her. PUI-NA tries to locate MA KWAI through KA-YAT’s network of fellow cab drivers. Though s MA KWAI, MA KWAI instead urges her to leave. MA KWAI manages to defeat the subordinates of the demon and saves TSZ-YEUK, following which he sends her into a taxi.
S01:E20 - Episode 20
Sitting at the edge of the cliff, MA KWAI still can’t figure out how come subduing demons became his duty, which is without any reward or recognition. KAM-DONG then uses sea waves hitting rocks as a metaphor to explain things to him. The demon suddenly appears before CHIN-MING to discuss the source of MA KWAI’s superpower. With KAM-DONG fighting against the demon at the TV city, KAM-DONG out of the blue wakes up and finds himself becoming the outstanding young person named MOK WAI-HO, who is interviewed by his fiancée PUI-NA. It’s not until the wedding ceremony that KAM-DONG calms down and comes to realize that it’s the demon’s illusion. KAM-DONG opens CHING-CHING’s third eye, telling her the truth that he is not HO. Bursting into tears, CHING-CHING reveals that she has already treated KAM-DONG as her own son. KAM-DONG tells MA KWAI to carry the sacred rock, adding that his own genie power has weakened. Though MA KWAI tries to help KAM-DONG recoup in every possible way, KAM-DONG frankly discloses KWAI who absorbed all his genie power.
