How To Be Indie

Starting eighth grade, Indie is determined to have a cool rep. And though her parents made her spend the summer studying Mandarin in her basement, she hides her boring vacation by wearing a camp t-shirt to the first day of school so everyone will assume she did something cool and fun. But after she embellishes her camp experiences in class, the Outdoors Club is so impressed they ask her to lead their weekend expedition into the scary wilderness. Unprepared for life in the wild and unhindered by her usually strict parents, Indie's caught between a rock and an uncool place. But could Mandarin somehow save the day, her life and her rep? Meanwhile, Marlon tries to up his rep, too, by getting his own entourage... with mixed results.
