YUK-KIU returns to TUNG's Residence apologizing to her father, who blames YU CHING for giving her the cold-shoulder. Throwing herself on the ground begging YU CHING to help KWAI-SHING overcome his mental disorder, the Empress also reveals to him that TUNG CHIU has been assisting her in secret for the past ten years. Having realized that TUNG CHIU was telling the truth the whole time, YU CHING agrees to serve KWAI-SHING again as his Reader-in-Waiting.
