Black Widows

Three best friends, Veera Johanna and Kirsi, try to start over by exploding their rotten husbands. The ladies try to direct the criminal investigators attention elsewhere, but one of the detectives, Petri, smells something fishy. And the worst is yet to come. Veera's husband Jukka did not die in the explosion. And now he is determined to find out who tried to kill him.

Veera finds half a million euros her husband Jukka has hidden in their house and gets in trouble when Jukka’s associate Rami comes looking for it. The widows manage to get rid of him by guiding Petri's attention to the suspicious man. Kirsi is disappointed that Veera doesn't want them touching the dirty money – especially since she has trouble getting her husband's life insurance.

Kirsi's life post murder is not what she expected with all the financial troubles. She decides to imagine herself a better one and starts a blog pretending to be what she wants: a millionaire’s widow. Johanna befriends Joonas and hopes now he won't find out who killed his father. Veera starts to date her daughter's friend's dad Erno but Rami scares him off.

Petri suspects Veera was at the accident scene but the other widows fake her an alibi. When the police find a suicide note from Rami, confessing he exploded the three men, Petri's boss Buntta closes the case. Petri doesn't know Buntta is protecting Jukka's employer, drug company Pharmateca's CEO Irina, who he thinks might be behind the murder. Irina has something to hide – something Jukka knew.

Veera has trouble evading Erno since their daughters go to the same kindergarten. Kirsi starts to get some money from her now popular blog and hopes she is finally going to make it. Johanna helps Veera out with dealing with Jukka and Rami´s company and finds out evidence that the men were mixed in something suspicious with Pharmateca. Her interest leads her in contact with Petri.

Johanna and Veera are relieved when Kirsi seems finally happy – she even has a new love interest. When Johanna finds out her new guy is Joonas, she gets mad. But they are forced to make up when Joonas breaks up with the too clingy Kirsi and Johanna has to comfort her. Irina offers to buy Jukka and Rami's company in order to find the same tapes Jukka is looking for.

Now we learn what really happened between Jukka, Rami and Pharmateca. Several people were killed in Pharmateca´s illegal drug experiments. Jukka and Rami found out about it – and now Jukka assumes Irina silenced Rami and tried to silence him too. This means Veera can’t tell her friends about Jukka’s return, for everyone who knows it might be in danger.

Johanna and Petri collaborate trying to find out what happened with Pharmateca. Both try to fight the mutual attraction. Kirsi finds out her blog deal is cancelled because she neglected it while dating Joonas. Desperate for sympathy, she writes her first honest blog, telling that her husband was not a millionaire, but a depressed man who was killed.
