Satoru’s grandmother Tomiko tells Saki truths about Ogres and Karmic Demons, as well as how she kept the students from the Board of Education’s wrath.
S01:E13 - Reunion
Saki and the others find Mamoru after he runs away before reuniting with Squonk, a Monster Rat that Saki once saved – and who has now saved Mamoru.
S01:E14 - Snowflakes
Tomiko defends Saki before the Board and admits to their protection from memory alterations. Mamoru and Maria have 3 days to avoid Board destruction.
S01:E15 - Afterimage
Saki is knocked unconscious seeking Maria and Mamoru before she and Satoru are brought before the Monster Rat’s queen and shocking truths are told.
S01:E16 - To My Beloved Saki
Maria’s farewell letter asks Saki to tell the villagers that she and Mamoru are dead. Saki has dreadful nightmares telling her that Maria must die.
