The War to End War (1914-1918)

With military pressure mounting, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand set off the powder keg of Europe and began the worst military slaughter in history, the Great War.

After several German U-Boat attacks on American merchant and passenger ships, President Woodrow Wilson felt the pressure from war hawks to enter the war.

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the Great War came to an end.
