Gene Autry is the sheriff of a small western town, crooning his way into the heart of Eleanor (Irene Manning), a singer from Chicago who has witnessed a murder! The king of the singing cowboys is accompanied by the usual cast of sidewinders, including Smiley Burnette as Deputy Frog, and in one of his early roles, Lon Chaney Jr. Also, look for a young Roy Rodgers as one of the Sons of the Pioneers.
