Alicia Douvall is addicted to plastic surgery. She's had scores of procedures from repeated breast surgery operations, nose jobs, eye re-shaping and bone shaving. The surgery's left her with constant pain and nerve damage and Alicia knows that her body can't take much more. Despite this, Alicia is extremely sceptical about therapy when she arrives at Passages and spends the first few days acting like a rebellious teen and refusing to participate in activities. She doesn't believe talking will help her get over her problems and wants to keep 'her past in her past'. Slowly Alicia begins to open up and she gradually reveals a traumatic childhood in which she was abused. At first she gets little comfort from admitting this but by the end of the two weeks Alicia has realised that she doesn't need to keep transforming herself with surgery - she just needs to learn to be comfortable with who she is.

Rowetta's probably best known as the 'mad woman' from X Factor. Highly emotional and often drunk on screen she became as renowned for her erratic behaviour as her amazing voice. Sadly, Rowetta's loud, party-girl persona is an alcohol-fuelled front for a woman that's suffered traumatic domestic abuse in her past. When Rowetta checks into Rehab she's drinking a bottle of whiskey most days and is aware that she's become an embarressment to family and friends. Rowetta's determined from the start to get the most out of Rehab - she does not want to be an old drunk. She knows the source of her problem, she tells the therapists how her ex-husband violently beat her from the age of 16-21 and she's lived in fear of him ever since. However, Rowetta just can't seem to get over the trauma that haunted her two decades ago and uses drink to control her anxiety. In the clinic Rowetta is forced to confront some of her fears, including heights on the weekend ropes course. Gradually, the therapists help Rowetta to see that she doesn't have to be a victim forever and that she control her fear and survive without the booze.

Daughter of Peter Sellers and Britt Eckland, Victoria Sellers has spent a lifetime struggling in her parent's shadow. She's been abusing class A drugs for years, has been in prison on drugs related charages a number of times and is drifting through life struggling to gain her own identity. She's been to Rehab before, but it's never really worked for her and she still regularly uses a range of illegal drugs. When she checks into the clinic her blood results show she's been on a binge. Victoria's a popular member of our group from the start, cheering up the other contributors - she's an entertainer. However, in individual therapy sessions Victoria reveals the pain she still has from her father's death and his decision to cut her out of his legacy. The therapist's help Victoria see that her Dad did leave her other things - chiefly his comedic personality and she doesn't need to be defined by his lack of acknowledgment in the will. It's time for Victoria to move on with her life and she makes the decision to leave her drug-using partner when she gets out of the clinic. Controversially, Victoria also decides not to stay for the full four weeks and instead go to her half-brother's wedding in Mexico.

Son of John Le Mesurier and Hattie Jacques, Robin's been leading the life of a rock star for too long and now the constant stream of alcohol is threatening to end his marriage. Robin's the last contributor to enter the clinic and soon drops the bombshell that his wife is seeing another man, a situation Robin tolerates as he's a 'very patient man'. What's more this is an identical situation to one his father faced when Robin's step-mother Joanie started an affair with Tony Hancock, one of John's best friends. The therapist's quickly see that Robin tends to 'minimise' everything that happens to him (much as his father did) but by appearing so laid-back he's not doing anything to address his problems. Family therapy is key to Robin's Rehab and when his wife, Jules, arrives at Passages she notices that away from the drink Robin's starting to express at least some emotion. Things improve with Jules, but ironically this starts to threaten Robin's recovery as she wants him back at home and he's tempted to leave Rehab after two weeks. The therapist's make Robin realise he's got to do this for himself, not just his marriage and Robin eventually stays on before going happily back home to his wife.

Cassie Sumner makes her living from glamour modelling and dating high-profile men - both professions that are all about body image, so it's not suprising Cassie has some issues with hers. She's been bulimic for years and realises that she's damaging her health for a lifestyle that just doesn't make her happy anymore. However, Cassie feels like a bit of a fraud when she enters Rehab - she feels her issues just aren't the same as the others with their drug and alcohol problems. Cassie quickly bonds with room-mate Alicia - and joins in with some of her teen rebellion. She's a reluctant participants in therapy to begin with and infuriates Rowetta with her reluctance to talk openly about her problems. Cassie does begin to open up - firstly talking openly in a women's group session where the whole group discuss their relationship with food and then in one to one sessions where she talks about how her parent's early divorce and her lack of contact with her Dad left her feeling vulnerable, a problem that was added to when she was bullied at school. The therapist's help Cassie see that she's chosen a lifestyle that constantly makes her unhappy and that she needs to find what really makes her tick. Cassie loves the outdoors activities at Passages - could it be that beneath the glamour girl all Cassie really wants is the simple life?

Star of Karate Kid III, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital, Sean Kanan's managed to kick the booze but enters the clinic for an addiction to prescription pain killers. It soon becomes clear that Sean's 'addiction' may be more complex than it first appears as his blood tests come back negative, leaving the clinic unsure if Sean genuinely has a problem. What's more, Sean frustrates the therapists who struggle to get through to the 'real Sean' and ends up in open confrontation with psychotherapist Laure and hypnotherapist Mary-Lou as he resists their attempts to get to the root of his problems. It eventually emerges that Sean was a fat little boy who felt inadequate and threw himself into sports and acting to transform himself. Has Sean build such an effective facade that he can never stop acting and now that his acting career's in free-fall can Sean find an identity he's happy with
