In this episode of Homage we honour two of the wildest men to step onto a football pitch. They are Diego Maradona, Argentina's little god, worshipped in spite of his self destructive tendencies and disrespect for the rules, and Eric Cantona, the fiery Frenchman who crossed the Channel to claim England, and was responsible for the most controversial kick in history. To them both, we pay homage.

From the history that seeded the animosity, namely the bloody Spanish Civil War, to the great head-to-heads of the modern era, and the superstars that have contributed to the drama, it is a spectacle that has enchanted generations, to which we pay homage.

In this episode we pay tribute to two of the oldest and nastiest rivalries in football: The North West Derby between Manchester United and Liverpool, and Scotland's grudge match between Celtic and Rangers. But it doesn't take decades for a rivalry to mature, so we also honour the Hudson Derby, the clash of New York City FC and New York Red Bulls. To them all we pay homage.
