After a shocking cancer diagnosis, Jo is assigned her first case as lead detective of Vancouver’s Homicide Division - the victim: the son of a prominent billionaire.

Jo narrows in on a potential suspect, while getting closer to the Xie family and uncovering drama that could be useful to the case.

Jo and Gorski interrogate their suspect to find motive, only to find more than one Xie family member with troublesome connections to Charles.

As the rift in the Xie family grows, the cracks between them also splinter. Anna finally admits the truth and it’s time to bring Paul in for questioning.

Paul admits to knowing about Charles’ attempt on his life. Jo finds out a difficult news and is more convinced then ever that one of the Xie family killed Charles.

Jo confronts Ron regarding Charles and a dark family secret, but she is looking at the wrong family member.

The clock is ticking, Jo makes an irrational decision to arrest Anna. After the arrest Jo visits her mother and lies about her diagnosis. Paul finds out about Anna and makes a decision.

We find out who killed Charles, and the dark Xie secret is revealed, sending current family members spiraling culminating in a shocking death. Jo quits the force and decides to start chemo.
