Restaurant Wars: The Battle for Manchester

Simon Rogan, one of the UK’s most revered chefs, famed for his 2 Michelin starred restaurant L’Enclume takes over at The French restaurant, housed in Manchester’s historic Midland Hotel.

Aiden Byrne and restaurateur Tim Bacon begin a rigorous training programme for chefs and front of house staff, most of whom have never worked in a fine dining restaurant.

As both restaurants hurtle towards the end of the year, they are under increasing pressure to deliver a profit on their backer’s investment, no easy feat in a city that has so far been resistant to fine dining. Can Simon Rogan and Aiden Byrne succeed?
