The first five years of the 21st century were marked by advances in science, terrorist attacks and new technologies.

Terrorism and the nuclear crisis caused alarm across the globe between 2005 and 2008. But fear was not the only thing that captured the world’s attention during these years.

The years between 2009 and 2012 were filled with policy changes, major disasters and revolutions. These were the years of the hunt for Osama Bin Laden and the Wikileaks scandals.

The last quinquennium of the first twenty years of the 21st century were marked by the actions of individuals who had the power to change the world.

We travel back in time to the years between 2016 and 2018 to remember the 100th anniversary of World War I and the peace agreement with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.

These twenty years end with one of the most tumultuous periods of the century. Intense protests in Chile, forest fires around the world and the execution of an Iranian general.
