Pip receives a great fortune from an undisclosed benefactor and moves to London to start a new life.

Pip quickly acquires expensive tastes and mounting debts. He returns to Satis House and once again meets Estella.

Pip discovers, to his horror, the identity of his benefactor and no longer wants his great fortune.

Pip is heartbroken to learn that Estella is to be married and attempts to rescue Miss Havisham from a fire.
