MEREDITH PHILLIPS, former participant and romantic hopeful from Bob Guiney's season of "The Bachelor," is the star of this installment of "The Bachelorette." Meredith, 30, a makeup artist originally from Portland, Oregon, who currently resides in Los Angeles, hopes to meet a man who shares her desire for a serious, long-term relationship and possibly even marriage.This season of "The Bachelorette" introduces new elements from the very beginning. At the first rose ceremony, the man who receives a special white rose wins the first one-on-one date with Meredith. Also, fans of "The Bachelor" get a delicious surprise when Kelly Jo, the runner-up from Bob's season of "The Bachelor," moves into the Bachelor Pad to offer her perspective on the men and their chances of winning Meredith's heart.Meredith will get to know 25 men via a series of social gatherings and exotic, romantic dates--in groups with some and individually with others. She will introduce some of the men to her closest friends and family and will visit their hometowns and meet their parents in an effort to determine the most desirable and compatible prospect."The Bachelorette" follows a gradual process of elimination, as Meredith is initially presented with 25 suitors then narrows it down to 15 on the season premiere by presenting each with a red rose. Host CHRIS HARRISON introduces the 15 remaining men to their new bachelor pad, and Meredith goes on three dates with her suitors--one individual date and two group dates. On the individual date, which is the result of the white rose Meredith handed out the first night, she and Rick enjoy a romantic date in a Hollywood mansion.On one group date with 7 guys, Meredith and the men experience a "Mad Max" date when a helicopter drops them off in the middle of nowhere, and they ride all-terrain vehicles. Then, on the other group date, the remaining 7 men and Meredith participate in a rodeo-themed event as they ride horses, barbecue and sit by a campfire. As tension rises in the bachelor pad, Meredith takes one lucky man on a one-on-one date to Los Angeles' Chinatown. Also, for the first time ever, the Bachelorette goes on a date with two guys, and the trio travels by train to Santa Barbara to spend a day at the zoo. The remaining seven anxious men don hockey gear and compete for a chance to spend "alone time" with Meredith in the penalty box. Then they accompany her on a group date to a Mighty Ducks hockey game. At the end of the episode, Meredith succumbs to immense stress as she attempts to narrow the field to six. In this special 90-minute episode, Meredith's friends--including Kelly Jo, the runner-up from Bob's season of "The Bachelor"--move into the guys' house so they can eventually give Meredith advice on the remaining men, each of whom must write Meredith a love letter. Whose letter will be the most romantic? Meanwhile, Meredith goes on three individual dates: a James Bond-themed date, complete with a Maserati and dinner in a "pod" in the water off Newport Beach, California; a date in which the pair takes a biplane ride and spends a day at a gorgeous vineyard, the Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez; and a home-cooking date involving a romantic evening preparing a quiet dinner together. Meredith, who is an avid golfer, also goes on a four-person group date to La Costa Resort and Spa for a day of golf. Meredith travels to the hometowns of the four remaining men and must answer some tough questions from the guys' families and friends. For the first time since she failed to present them with roses, Meredith encounters the 23 men she rejected. The guys reunite to give behind-the-scenes information and offer their predictions on which of the two men she's likely to choose. The special also includes never-before-seen footage, original auditions--including Meredith's audition tape to be on "The Bachelor" with Bob Guiney--and unseen moments from dates.

In the suspenseful two-hour finale, Meredith brings the two remaining men home to meet her family. Later, Meredith comes to the end of the journey and must make her final choice. Which man has captured her heart? Will she--or he--propose marriage?
